Machines with max oscar data
Do all the “supported” machines give the same amount of Oscar data or are some capable of giving more data than others?

Some machines offer a lot of info, some don't.

RE: Machines with max oscar data
Thank you for your reply. I currently use an AirCurve 10 ST which I understand will be discontinued and replaced with the AirCurve 10 ST-A. I have OSCAR but have a very rudimentary knowledge about it and have used it rarely. But my understanding is the data from my current machine does not specifically identify Centrals and just treats them as a hypopnea or unidentified. As sleep studies indicate mine are primarily Centrals I would like to replace my 7 year old machine with one that will specifically sort out and specifically identify Centrals. I'm sure this may be a too broad a question but do you know if using the AirCurve 10 ST A with OSCAR will specifically identify Centrals? In the past there has been debate about prescribing an ASV. Current data suggests my average monthly MyAir AHI about 5. OSCAR agrees with this data. Without a lengthy narrative, myself and my pulmonologist both agree this may be an underestimate but perhaps not by much and my results are quite acceptable. My pulmonologist is not familiar with OSCAR. On the side, do machines need to be routinely replaced even if the data from them seems to be support appropriate therapeutic levels? Thanks for your consideration.

RE: Machines with max oscar data
I'm in an assumption mode, lacking some background but enough to fill in the possible historical aspect.
You were issued a ResMed ST to treat CA, not lung disease. Correct? If it's Central Apnea treatment you need, then the ST-A will be as wrong as the ST. The ST and ST-A machines are for lung conditions, and only are able to treat Central Apnea due to the timed backup breath rate. If I'm correct on needing Central Apnea treatment, the ResMed ASV is your goal. ResMed itself tells us the ASV treats Central Apnea, and Obstructive Apnea, Hypopnea as well. PS the ASV will report CA as Unclassified probably like what you're seeing now. Oh, but for one thing, you likely will not have untreated Central Apnea on the ASV. It's that good. I've had ASV therapy with the ResMed AirCurve 10 ASV great for 2 years, but I also have COPD, so it became harder to use well.
