RE: MrIvanDrago - CPAP|Bi-PAP Therapy Journey
Are there any downsides to the Trigger functionality? For example, why would someone want to switch it to the 'Low' setting?

I have never suggested low trigger sensitivity, but it might be useful if a mid-expiration flow spike were to occur (false inspiration start). I mostly see those on Philips machines with poor Flex sync, and those have no trigger controls. Anyway, the use of low trigger might also be used where expiration time needs to be prolonged with severe COPD.

Good information, SleepRider. The only question I am trying to answer is, what, if any, are the downsides of setting a trigger sensitivity to 'High' or 'Very High'? Are there any downsides?

ScarcasticDave94,

which definition of "expire" are we discussing here? Oh-jeez

Or is this just your opportunity to slip one in there? Laugh-a-lot

Keep up the good work!

Well no, Dave didn't put the word expire in the quoted area. I copy/pasted ish. Blame ResMed.

I would hope that in this context, expire means the shortened word expiration. This is the expire we're doing frequently. The other expire, I think most will do that one once.

Update: I have been using my current settings for a few weeks now and seem to control my events; however, I am still waking up a lot during the night and my sleep is pretty fragmented. If anyone sees anything that I could possibly improve, I am all ears. Thanks for any help from the group.

You only got 2 perfect zeros out of those 3. Terrible.

No, it's decent really, just don't expect zero always, it's not the goal. Low AHI sure, as long as your comfort is decent. I've forgotten how long you've been on therapy, but some of us take time to adapt. Keep swinging for the fences.

Been about a year now, but switched to a bi-level about 3 months ago. Even with the good AHI numbers, my sleep has been not great with frequent wakeups and tossing and turning.

Hello, just curious -- how do you FEEL during the day with that kind of sleep? Numbers look amazing to me (2 month newbie), but I understand your sleep is fragmented.

Cheers!
