Congrats on the 0.0 AHI. You have really accomplished a lot of improvement since joining the forum. I guess it just goes to show you can teach an old dog new tricks. Best wishes for continued success, but don't expect perfection every night.

Thanks for your note. You're right. My treatment is better because of the help you all have given me. My old sleep doc...oh my.

Numbers vary nightly. I watch for trends. If they are high, and stay high I look for the reason why. It's often time to replace my mask.

I had my follow up meeting with my new sleep doc. I hadn't bet him before.

Frankly I am impressed.

He said my pressure of 11 (since 2008 or so) stops my apneas. I recently had more AHI=0.0 on night reports, so this is true. However, he said that increasing my pressure to 13 (tested in sleep lad) produced more deep sleep. So my script is for 11-13

He is the first sleep doc I've had to go a little further and investigate quality sleep.

I adjusted my pressure up to 13 last night. Let's see how this works.

Dr Awad. Oakville. a good experience.

ps.  I talked about an autopap machine. He said my apneas are well controlled and recommended a cpap. He will write a script for an autopap if I request it. My old sleep doc flatly refused.

Doc Awad said to return when I wanted a machine.

He didn't try and sell me one on the spot. Again, I'm impressed.

Thanks for your message! It means a lot to me

I hold special success like this in mind.  When my treatment isn't working, I call on these memories and realize I can do better.

I know so much more now than I did before.

Hi DaveL,
Good luck with getting more comfortable with CPAP therapy and learning Sleepyhead.

Thanks.

I've made great gains coming here. I used to use other forums. People there weren't helpful. It's so much better here.

I'm on a path to wellness.

I found a great dme by networking. A friend at work told me where he went and that he was happy.

I found a good sleep doc. My family doc referred me. My family doc was retiring so I pushed for a referral.

I have a great machine that I investigated here. I bought it used. It's so much better than what I used for many years.

I can now catch a problem and fix it using sleepyhead. In the past (using the horrible sleep doc and dme that I had) it would last 6 months or a year, and my health and happiness would get worse and worse.

I'm on a path to wellness, and I'm no longer acting like a victim.

He confirmed that I have severe sleep apnea.
that was my diagnosis about 30 years ago....and moderate restless leg syndrome. No wonder my dog won't sleep on the bed with me. Wink
