why has AHI jumped so high?

Mine is doing the same. I am getting many Centrals. I went to see my sleep neurologist and she seemed un phased. They tested a different size mask bbut I have minimal leakage now and I am up to a 12 and 8 AHI, which is where I started, but I had no controls.  I ran a 1 or 2 AHI until Christmas.

I told my doctor I started a new medication when this started and she said the medication has no impact. 

I will continue to wear my machine, but even Resmed noticed the increases today and sent me an email!

Your doctor is wrong.  Many different types of medications can affect sleep and AHI readings.
What is the makeup of your AHI? You say mostly clear airways. An AHI of 12 is just too high.
How are you sleeping?

This thread is pretty old and I've noticed you posted in other threads too with the same question.
The best thing to do is stick to one thread so that folk can read your history.

Just passed the one year mark and just when I thought I had it solved my AHI went up. 

The change for me was I started sleeping better. Which is the purpose of the CPAP in the first place. Now I only get 7 hours sleep and I am awake and alert all day and my AHI is up to 2 from  .5.  Sleep quality is not measured in AHI.

I agree entirely with that statement.  Some of my best nights sleep have been with a slightly higher AHI.

But with an AHI of 12, we need to look at the makeup of the AHI.

In LKng67 post, she didn't say how well she was sleeping, only concerned about the high AHI of 12 with mostly centrals.  That's why we need to see data.
