New F&P Evora Full Face Mask--Leaks!

I ordered this mask and hoping I can get some success and not have to post a 20 page thread like you have had too.  . I really hope you can get the Evora or some sort of mask to work !

What's the fatal flaw? I think it's me.

My reaction to stop leaks is to tighten the straps.

I've had 2 different people at 2 DME suppliers set up my mask.

Last occurrence: Lady said it was too tight. She handed me a mirror. Clue? Centre of the mask insert on my nose was wrinkled. Too tight.

She undid all 4 of the straps and set it up for me. Looser. Clue? Turn on my cpap set at 15. The mask insert pops and seals.

Then I did the mask test trial with my ResMed S10 *for her* That helped me optimize the mask fit. Helped me centre the mask on my face.

Last step: I checked the length of the two bottom straps. Adjusted them so they were the same. Then I checked the length of the two top straps. Adjusted them so they were the same.

Finally: I did the S10 *for her* mask fit test. Better.

I apologize for 20 pages. I bought the mask on line $178 CDN. I figured that the mask was worth it at this price. Then my Scottish heritage clicked in. Bought it? It darn well better work.

Buying one? I didn't know that the mask came in two sizes. I likely would have bought the larger one; I have the smaller one.

It's good info and glad you posted as well as commend you for your dedication. 


I ordered one online and got thanksgiving day special discount.  So got a small medium mask for $148. 

They do make a larger cushion for the Evora . It is really large.  However if you want to try a large you just need to order a large cushion. 

I had the Evora on trial but the clinician did not adjust properly ,it was way too tight.  I bought a large cushion locally  for the trial it's pretty big. . So when the mask comes I will have two cushions to make work and hope it does. 

The Evora I had random issues getting a seal and wake up with farting burping noise.. I was adjusting to cpap ,had a poor attitude and no clue to adjust a mask. Even the f20 

I have mastered the F20 mask and want a hybrid so my nose is not all covered. 

So going to give the Evora a try !

Last night...oh my.

I started a trial with a second and better F30i ResMed. Woke up about 2 hours later and my AHI was 17.0.

I took it off and went back to the Evora Full full face mask. got 6 hours sleep; Final score for the night on the S10*for her* was about 6.0 and it showed bad leakage.

Bad side was I was up three times for runs to the washroom....normal is 0 to 1.

I'm an engineer. I hate bad design. Score ResMed at 0 for the F30i. It may be fine for anyone else.

Score F&P Evora Full ffm at 3 out of 5. It's too easy to mess up.

BTW I wear a size 7-1/2 hat.

F&P has two headgear sizes. Standard. Large....I bought Standard; didn't know I had a choice. I'm considering a second one, and would likely buy a Large Headgear to see if that's better.
I had bought the fit kit. It comes with 3 mask inserts. After playing lots of football when young I usually need a Large insert due to broken noses...one nose, multiple times. Inside isn't normal either.

I spent last night being woken up with F&P Evora Full loud farting, burping noises too.

I don't have any other full face masks to try....except there is another ResMed ffm f30 with a hose connection on the front. My trial is on the top. Yanked the mask off my face rolling in my sleep a couple of times last night. My pressure is 15 right now.

I want to condemn mask designers and fitters to a lifetime of using their own product with pressure of 20. Keep it on every night. See how you like it.

The DME supplier took a look through my machine after two nights using the F&P Evora Full. Said maybe I should buy a new insert....It may be old; but it's not been used much.

thread count....I'm only here to help. BUT I appreciate all comments and wish the people who are so much wiser than I would comment.

Usin' cpap ain't easy. Don't know why I volunteered for a sleep study 35 years ago.

Sorry having a rough go , alot of people on the internet jump all over people on forums and social media . So some are scared to contribute . 

Have you looked at Amazon or something  like that for larger headgear ? 

I bought a F30 this summer and the lady was hesitant to sell it to me As she did they have lots of issues with leaks.  Due to people not adjusting it properly.  She said they have have more success with the Evora full.

I have more consistent results with a f20 mask compared to the F30 . The F30 is a good mask but not adjusted right or have it shift and leaks are through the mouth. It is a very light mask . I've gotten from 0liters a min and 2 liters a minute.  Then some as high as 50 liters a minute. 

It looks like a solid mask but it's finicky like the Evora.

Last night I put the F30i on and I've never had such leaks. AHI=16. That's the second mask I've tried. Free--but costs me $100 to drive there to get it, and another to take it back. I can buy the mask on the internet and get it for less!

Then I put the F&P Evora Full ffm masks on. Same result.

Finally, I changed the settings on the S10 for her machine; put on the nasal mask. Put tape on my lips. Best sleep of the night. ResMed N20 Large...nasal mask/nasal pillows setting on the S10....

Slept ok when I finally slept.

Thanks for your thoughts. In the last year, year and a half I've bought N20's; N30i; P30i; F&P Evora Full. If the Evora Full worked for me it would be my favourite.

I'm hard of hearing; I can't hear whether my mask is leaking. Only way I can tell is myAir or OSCAR. And I don't know OSCAR well; can't see what's causing my leaks. Mouth? Positional?

The mask game is a viscous cycle, I buy online suit the receipt get reimbursed 80 percent . Then of that doesn't work out. Then I order another mask . Full face masks where I live are 300 to 350 at the clinic. So I figure if I have to buy a mask on my own it's still cheaper than the sleep clinic ? 

Have you ever ordered from cpap machines Canada ? Alot of their masks are 30 day return if they don't work out . One just pays return shipping . Then they ship a new mask no charge.. be cheaper than buying gas and the Trudeau tax :

I never have but might one day and see how it goes. 

Have you tried the F20 full face mask ? Or really want to make a hybrid minimalask work ? Or been there for that ? 

My Evora full showed up today and got it adjusted see how the night goes !! Whish me luck !! 

When I fit my mask I will generally have it on as well once adjusted / adjusting I move my mouth and jaw every which way and within reasons . Then adjust till no leaks , roll around in positions I sleep in and hope for the best . Wanted to share ...

I understand with not hearing mask leaks , I find too I can have some leaks but there so minor . Can't even tell there leaking.  But look at the data and it's o my .

Your leaks are probably due to jaw dropping and falling back as well as your face muscles relax then this causes leaks.  Well my issues anyway.

I can't remember if I tried the F20. Just looked. They say it's their highest sale item in ffm. I'll get a loaner and see.

There's a strap that goes across the top. Over my bald spot.

Doing it up one more notch has made a great difference.

All of that...it's an amazing mask.

Yet night before last I was up 5 times with my mask off. My numbers were good. I had the mask on a long time. Felt like "you know what".
