RE: New Here - Could use some help
Quick question regarding the Dreamware breather vents, specifically the one on top of your head at the connection point.
It makes a good deal of noise depending on how I am laying as it can blow directly on the pillow, I know we need venting to prevent c02 buildup, but since there is also a vent at the front of the mask in front of your nose/mouth, can I block the one at the top of my head without concern?

RE: New Here - Could use some help
No, you can't modify that vent. It is the main expiratory mask vent and the smaller vents in the mask only vent the cushion. That's why I use an Airfit P10.

ok, well, maybe I'll use ear plugs or something, I really despise hose connections on the front and want to avoid that if at all possible.
Thank you!

RE: New Here - Could use some help
Quick update, still doing well at pressure ~10 in CPAP mode.
Biggest problem for me now is the noise of the breather vent at the top of the Dreamware masks, which I stubbornly refuse to let go because of their comfort. As discussed before, I guess I cannot seal up the breather vent, but I am looking for ways to reduce the sound without impacting the venting... brainstorming, if you have any ides, shoot them at me.

RE: New Here - Could use some help
Try placing a piece of gauze over the vent. Start with a single layer in an attempt to diffuse the sound. Add additional layers, one at a time, until it is acceptable. Remember that this can be a double sword, meaning that reducing the sound can reduce airflow.

A very similar mask is the Resmed Airfit P30i as reviewed here http://www.apneaboard.com/forums/Thread-...llows-Mask
You might want to ask in that thread what the vent at the connector is like for noise or diffusion of the vented air. I don't have personal experience, but I could see that mask working well if it is quieter.

RE: New Here - Could use some help
I have used that P30i and I found it quiet. I couldn't work with it as I'm a very heavy mouth breather most of the time. Starting with either P30i or N30i you can get the other's cushions and have both pillows and nasal on the same frame and headgear.

RE: New Here - Could use some help
Thanks guys, I will definitely look at the Resmed N30i / P30i masks.
I have a habit of over engineering solutions, so of course I'm using a 3d printer to build a baffle cover for my dreamware mask...don't ask why. I will also try the gauze recommendation as well.

Hey, how about designing and 3D printing your own form fit mask?
