Very good news there. Keep the fire on the doc, DME and insurance and they will hopefully get you that ASV very soon.

RE: New Member - Hello! [how long before considering adjustments?]
I hope everyone had a wonderful holiday weekend! Just before the break I had my results, and I am getting an ASV! I am waiting on copies of my results, but Dr. said it was clear the ASV helped my apnea, better O2 sat, and we found a sweet spot where my centrals were eliminated, before they roared back during titration. Now I am just waiting for insurance! Hoping they get their act together so that this ASV comes in December before the high deductible insurance plan resets!
Once I get the thing I will start a new thread. In the meantime, hooray!

RE: New Member - Hello! [how long before considering adjustments?]
Congrats. Reading between the lines on your post, the "sweet spot" infers the use of fixed ASV rather than auto. It will be interesting to see the prescription. I'm hoping for the Resmed Aircurve 10 ASV due to its simplicity and effectiveness over more individuals. It would be a good idea to keep up with your supplier to know what is being ordered, and especially to be sure that it is NOT a ST machine (yes, I'm skeptical until actually seeing the prescription). What I don't get is that there should not have been a "sweet spot" with ASV, this sounds like a ST issue.

I ditto Sleeprider's sentiment especially as one with an ASV. I suggest calling that DME and making certain what they plan on dispensing. Just my opinion, if it's not ResMed AirCurve 10 ASV, refuse it and get another DME that will dispense. Make sure doc has scripted the right machine or kick his tail. Yes I know Respironics ASV is the better brand for some, but most are served better with ResMed ASV. And it must be ASV not ST. I'd keep the fire hot under these 3 doc/DME/insurance, call early and often to keep nudging the ASV into your hands. Do not let momentum die out.
Congrats on the progress. Run to that finish line. Post when it arrives. I'm very interested what settings they pawn off on you.

I got a copy of the script. It says:
Diagnosis: ICD-10: G47.31 Primary central sleep apnea Supply: ASV Machine Duration: 12 Max Exhalation Pressure: 15cm Min Exhale Pressure: 4cm Maximum Pressure Support: 15cm Minimum Pressure Support: 3 "Provide all necessary supplies, heated tubing, water chamber, headgear, chinstrap, heated humidifier, and please fit with a PAP mask. Please set patient up ASAP." The order is under clinical review. Fingers crossed!
