New User - Getting Discouraged

RE: New User - Getting Discouraged
They are about 50% lower than ramp only. I really think you would feel much better on the settings I suggested but all of this is up to what you want it set to.

No, I'll definitely take your advice. (I kind of don't think my doctor knows much about this stuff lol)

Thank you!

What were you saying about putting my min down by 3?

When you change the EPR mine your min down by 3.

Post tomorrow and let’s see how much improvement that makes.

I would like to thank you.  I tried the settings you recommended and last night was the best I've ever slept on the things.  I did have some leaking issues that I wasn't aware of until I pulled up the chart this morning.  I will post my OSCAR as soon as I figure out my computer's weird formatting.

Here is last night's chart:

I slept better than I ever have on the thing but suddenly leaks look like an issue. I'll try adjusting the mask tonight.

Also, I feel like I'm still doing something wrong as far as OSCAR goes.  I had to resize all the charts manually to get them to fit in the screenshot.

Anyways, I would love your guy's advice on last night's chart.  Thank you so much!

I have been thinking about this topic for a bit and decided to chime in. I won’t address your specific questions as Stacey is well down that path.

What I want to say is that CPAP is not going to solve all your sleep problems. It can solve your sleep apnoea issues, but sleep hygiene is a far more complex problem than simply that. Start with the following link and think about how it applies to your particularly sleep situation. Work a bit every night on improving each aspect you think needs to be addressed. In the end your sleep will slowly improve by fixing things that need to be fixed, but you still need CPAP to handle the things it can like apnoea’s.

Thank you!  I actually read this article when I first started and have been working on it.  It's a terrific reminder.

RE: New User - Getting Discouraged
Things look better. I would raise the min to 8. The leaked appear to be mouth leaks. Do you have a dry mouth on waking?   Some people use tape there are a lot of posts about using mouth tape. I have tried that but could not tolerate it.

I learned to use what they call tongue suck method. All it is is sucking your tougue to the roof of your mouth. Of course it is harder than that - you need to train your tongue to stay on the roof. And that takes several weeks. I do it constantly while awake and after a few weeks my tongue just stays there.
