New and in Need OSCAR Analysis

RE: New and in Need OSCAR Analysis
That chart presents a pretty strong argument your minimum pressure of 8.0 w/epr 2 is too low. Your pressure is settling in at a median of 9.8.

RE: New and in Need OSCAR Analysis
I'm going with an 8.6 and I'm going to try to inch up towards 9.0 over a few nights. I'm also bringing the top end down to 11.0 because I think there's too much variance going on.

I may have mentioned that I tried going to 9.0 the other night and found it quite uncomfortable. It feels like there's too much pressure and that there's a leak if I move even a little bit (I normally have zero leak issues).

RE: New and in Need OSCAR Analysis
Calendar Colors:  Black = no data populating the date.
Blue  = Data populating the date.
Blue Bolded = At the bottom of your "Notes" tab in the left hand side bar, you have entered "Weight" in the assigned box or "Feelings" in the sliding scale  0 to 10 (poor to Awesome) Your Weight will be entered to a graph on the "Overview" Page, Weight will also be utilized to calculate BMI with the height you entered in your OSCAR profile, BMI will be graphed on the "Overview" page also. The last three graphs on my Overview page are Weight, BMI and Feelings.
Red = Data Imported. Upper left hand of the OSCAR display, above the "Welcome" tab you will find "Data" a flyout will open listing several external data collection device that may be imported to your OSCAR Report.  Pulse/Oximeters are probably the most commonly imported data.

Therefore when looking back several months with a glance at a monthly calendar I can tell from the color of the day what information may be present on a given day.

I encourage people to utilize the Notes to document anything that may be of importance for future reference. Therapy changes and what desired effect you want to achieve. Medication change, seasonal allergy, respiratory Illness, Excessive St. Patrick's Day Celebration, Changes in mask/headgear, changes in bedroom set up, pillows, Soft Cervical Collar (SSC), bedding, room temperature change. Loss of a loved one, it is amazing to look back several years and see something that catches your eye and when you chase it down you find you were grieving the loss of your dog who had been a family member for 20 some years. Anything that might be important months or even years down the road.

If you import from a Wellue Pulse/Oximeter as I do, on your "Overview Page" the colors of the bars will change in the "Usage" and "Sessions Times" bar graphs. I would imagine that would be true for some of the other data collection devices. At a glance I can tell if I did not import data for a given day because the color change.

How is your Learning curve coming? Can I throw some more at you? If you review some of the YT videos on OSCAR I suggested,,, you may find a reference to calendar date colors, but the significance was probably not stressed, the same with "Weight" and "Feelings" entries as well as keeping notes.

Down the road when you find you are not getting the restorative sleep you did previously, you may be able to look at Overview or Statistics page and see when thing started to go wonkers. Then you notice, you've lost 30 pounds, you're not getting the Great Feeling and your leak rate is up. That mask you so dearly loved no longer fits your face because of weight loss. Therapy pressures are good, that mask leak is causing arousals.

Mask fitting and replacements are a very common subject matter.

Take care.

Sleep-well

8.4 cmH2O  if 8.6 cmH2O is too much. leave it for a couple of days then sneak another 0.4 cmH2O about Wednesday, then give it a day or two before increasing again. Sleeprider is correct, you will end up on the high side of 9 cmH2O. Just don't push it too fast

RE: New and in Need OSCAR Analysis
I got a bit thrown off by DST and accidentally cranked up the min to 9.6 (!) when I intended 9.0, but here's my OSCAR from last night (3/10):

If nothing else, I guess this showed me that I can handle higher pressures and still sleep decently well.

How do feel, now that you've been up for awhile?

Keep tabs on your previously noted symptoms to see if you find any notable differences?

Did you get your Clinicians Manual for your ResMed?
   https://www.apneaboard.com/adjust-cpap-p...tup-manual

Do you need a couple of days to see how your body responds and acclimates to the new pressure, before raising minimum pressure again?

Looking at your chart you will likely end up the high side of 10 cmH2O.

I would suggest you raise the maximum pressure to 12 cmH2O. . Your pressure graph bumped up against the 11 cmH2O limit you had in there last night.

Did you make any entries in your OSCAR Notes tab?

At 00:40 there is a spike in your flow rate, could you zoom in on that spike with a  3 minute view. try to center the spike so I can see breaths before and after.

RE: New and in Need OSCAR Analysis
    Hi Unicorn,

1. I didn't notice any major improvement in my daytime sleepiness.  In fact, I would up taking a short nap this morning. Sad

2. Sorry if I wasn't clear on this, but I've been in the Clinical Menu and making my own adjustments for several weeks now.

3. I can probably raise my minimum pressure again if needed since I tolerated 9.6 last night (thinking I had set it to 9.0), but I had actually intended on bumping it back down to 9.0 tonight.

4. Interesting that you predict that I may wind up on the high side of 10.0 min.  I've been guessing that I'd probably settle somewhere around 9.0-9.5, but this was rather arbitrary based mostly on tolerance as I don't have the requisite expertise to understand all the patterns yet.

5. You are spot-on with your recommendation to raise the max pressure to 12.0, but this is one time I actually beat you to it because I also noticed that I was bumping up against 11.0.  Thank you for confirming that my instincts were correct (for once).

6. I am trying my best to absorb as much info as I can, but I will admit that I have not had a chance to explore the Notes thing yet.  I will get there soon.

7. Here is the zoom at 00:40 for my Flow Rate:

I also thought I'd include a screenshot showing another weird area on my FR graph:

RE: New and in Need OSCAR Analysis
Leave your pressure at 9.6 cmH2O for tonight. You tolerated it last night lets give it a day or two to ensure you are comfortable. Then based on the OSCAR reports and how you are feeling,  you can adjust from there, we will guide you in. Where you had problems tolerating the increase before I would rather take it slow from here.

I like to view my flow rate zoomed in with a Y-axis scaled to ~40 to 80 l/m. it gives me a more "normalized" wave shape, Depending upon your Tidal Volume your ideal Y-axis scaling will vary. Zoomed out to a full view I like to view my graphs with the y-Axis at about 80 to 110. You should have seen how to scale the Y-Axis on the YT videos. If you need help let me know.

Here is some information you may enjoy.   https://www.apneaboard.com/wiki/index.ph...Rate_graph

Bring your Pressure Max up to 12 cmH2O  for the reason you state, you previously bumped up against it at 11 cmH2O.

Can you tell me if anything jumped out at you with my flow rate graph? Do you need me to resize the Y-axis first?

Set for 9.6 - 12.0 for tonight. Is EPR 3 okay?
