Thanks for the great explanation of the differences. I have a laptop and will download the software. It sounds like a very complete software program. And you right, the MyAir, is kinda like a quick view of "last nights" sleep.

Dennis, how are you feeling so far on the ASV? I think the Sleepyhead data will be really helpful for you. Is the machine in autoASV mode?

MyAir (Phillips Respironics has DreamMapper) is like getting a box of 3 crayons; Sleepyhead is like getting the 124 crayon box with built-in sharpener.

I have downloaded the sleepyhead software onto my laptop and you are all right there is a lot of info to take in. I'm not totally sure if my machine is in auto mode or not? I kinda feel uneducated with this, since it is still so new. How can I tell If it is in auto mode? Are there specific information that I should be looking for with the sleepyhead software or a guide that is of use for me?

Sleepyhead will tell you the mode right at the top under AHI. Otherwise, it's a good idea to enter the clinician mode and record the settings (control knob and home button pressed together, then go to settings). Just scroll through and record the settings so you know what is in play.

Well Ive only had my resmed aircurve 10 ASV machine since April 5th, 10 days ago and it is making this very annoying and irritating "whistling noise", when I inhale. Ive read several of the posts on this forum regarding the same topic and was wondering what the resolutions were for those of you who wouldn't mind sharing. Every single piece of equipment on this machine is brand new so to me this seems to be either a manufacturing flaw in the design of this particular unit or a flaw in the design of this Model type. I'm sure the DME will take it back because I'm sure it Is under warranty. But, for those of you who have had this same experience I was wondering if you found anything that worked to stop the noises?

Verify the humidifier container is properly seated. If the noise is from the blower/fan unit then it could be a defective fan (pneumatic block). It has happened in other models, and as far as I know the ASV uses the same fan. It's a warranty item if repair or replacement is needed.

Thank you. I have done as you had mentioned and the humidifier is securely positioned in there. Now that you mention it, It almost certainly sounds like a fan unit so you are probably right. I'll get a hold of my DME on Monday, once they reopen and hopefully they can help me out. Thanks again for the quick reply
