My wife got an airsense 11 almost a year ago and it has never had an odor. My unit is going back tomorrow; hopefully this is an aberration.

ResMed airsense 11 strong odor
Tonight I began using my just-received airsense 11 to replace my AS 10, and it has the same “burnt circuit board smell” that was reported in an earlier now-closed thread. The smell is very strong to the point of giving me a headache. I’ve run the machine for many minutes to see if the odor clears—it doesn’t. I removed the water tank and smelled the air directly from the machine. The odor is coming out of the machine, not the hose.

RE: ResMed airsense 11 strong odor
In addition to the strong odor, I’m remembering that the new airsense 11 also didn’t seem to be providing the right pressure. In the brief time I tried it the pressure seemed immediately way too high; the sort of pressure I get with my older airsense 10 when it goes max pressure. I wonder if the circuit board smell and the incorrect pressure are part of the same problem.
I’ll be returning this unit ASAP.

RE: ResMed airsense 11 strong odor
Since you are returning it anyway, you might want to ask for a new AirSense 10 instead of another 11. People are running into problems with the 11s.

Thanks for your comment! I have a 10, but as my doctor pointed out the 10 does not have current bluetooth, among other things. My wife has no problem with her 11. |
