Well, my snore index does seem incredibly high, especially if the numbers to the left of my graph are not decibels. In 72 days of cpap therapy I usually have 2 or 3 Hypopneas per night and my AHI average is 0.24. I know that when I first climb in bed I move around a lot so maybe JudgeMental is right and that the sound it's picking up is either the movements in the bed or something else. Maybe I'm a heavy breather without actually snoring. I'll ask my husband to check my noise level for the next week and compare it to the graph.
I wonder also if the difference in my snore index is based on how my machine records the snore vs. the S9 AutoSet.

It could be leak and loosing therapy air.

I get a VS (vibratory snore) reading from the printout that varies from 250-300 and means absolutely nothing that I know about. No plot. My wife reports no snoring and attributes the kicks to me taking up more than my allotted 10% of the bed.
Does anyone have a guess what this number means -- if anything?

its called vibratory snore. i think the air thru the machine is sensing vibration which is normally snoring. i think it could be that corrugated air hose itself. maybe by moving around the hose is producing vibrations. we have to remember the pap machines are one dimensional with air pressure and air pulses as it is blowing out being the only way the machine has to recognize things.

Snore
A loud upper airway breathing sound during sleep, without episodes of apnea.
Snore detection in Respironics System One..Vibratory snore is detected when a specific frequency is detected during the inspiratory portion of the patient's breath. Vibratory snore is disabled at pressures greater than 16 cm H2O.

The Vibratory Snore Index is the total number of vibratory snoring events per night divided by the hours of use.
