Hi, I am attaching here the 2-page data from my in-lab sleep study.
Since I just started reading about sleep apnea/UARS, I would be glad if you all can analyze my data and suggest me what to do know, especailly:
1. What machine + settings to get to start treatment.
2. What is my diagnosis, and what appointments/else I should do next.
Any insights would be greatly appreciated.
Background: I did the sleep study after suffering for years (I am 24 Male) from exhaustion, tiredness, heavy brain fog, forgetfulness, hard time in school even though the material itself is easy for me (I was a gifted child started BSc is CS in age 14 but could not make it because I couldn't keep a routine) headaches, difficult time recovering during/after exercise and tiring quickly (even though am in very good shape), mild depression/anxiety/ocd.
Also I broke my septum and have a deviated septum from sports, happened 1.5 years ago, according to ENTs it shouldn't block my airway and I have inflamation from vasomotor activity that makes it hard for me to breath in. Was prescribed steroids spray but didn't use it yet. I am using nose strips which help me partly.
Falling asleep is hard for me even I am exhausted. Hard to fall asleep before 1AM even when going to bed in 11PM - see it happens in the Lab results.
Very hard to wake up. Some days I can't even function till 3 - 4 PM so maintaining work/school routine so hard for me.
In short I feel that if not getting it fixed soon I would not be able to pick up the pace in life.
Did they explain what mixed and unclassified events refer to? I'm assuming mixed is hypopnea and unclassified is arousals?
Considering you had no central apneas you may do well to find a Resmed Airsense 10 or 11 depending on insurance and budget. The next step is typically another trip to the sleep center for them to help you find the right pressure called a cpap titration where they'll find the best pressure to treat your sleep disordered breathing.
From my experience, the more you can keep your nose open the better and I've found nasal saline rinses to be helpful in concert with my bilevel usage.
When you get your cpap, I'd recommend going with a simple full face mask like a resmed f20 at least to start out. Once you get acclimated to sleeping with the machine you can test & learn but there are tons of threads on here with people using nasal masks or hybrid masks and fighting leaks for months which lower the therapeutic value of the therapy. I would avoid hybrid masks like the plague (f30i).

RE: Next step after getting my study results.
Thanks. Got a airsense 10 2 weeks ago, and started treatment.
I attach a screenshot of last night sleeping with the machine. Hope you can help me figure out things out of it.
As to how I feel, I think I am better - less tired than before - but definitely not 100%. I feel the same just a little bit better (tiredness fatigue brain fog headaches etc.)

RE: Next step after getting my study results.
This looks like pretty good therapy. It may be a time factor in feeling better for it. When I finally got on the right machine, I had some instant feeling better, however the longer period of time being treated will slowly began to undo the damage bad sleep caused. And your timing may be like mine, years of apnea damage before it was diagnosed and treated, so it'll take a little time to begin chipping away at it. It'll pay off by continuing to produce good results like this one.
