[CPAP] Still snoring with Auto Cpap

Hi Ajack, thank you so much for the advise. We have never considered this. I believe the machine goes up to 20. Would it be safe putting it up 17-20 lets say?

Also, I can see that the majority of the night he has used a lower pressure. Wouldn't this be what he needs? 

I am still understanding how it works but it is certainly worth a try as we have tried literally everything else.

I was thinking out loud and I'm a novice, others will give better advice..I would start at 10-11 and keep increasing from there till it stopped. if needed you can work up to 15-17 over a few weeks. There is a pressure where there are no snores. I run 15-20cm, I know of no danger for any normal person to run at 20cm if needed

Oh wow. Thank you for sharing. Your pressure range looks great. From what I see at least. :-)

I really can't wait for the day with no snores.

Tahera, it would really help if you could post a #Sleepyhead chart with the daily details. The Philips works a little slower to increase pressure than the Resmed posted by ajack above. What I'd like to do is look at the charts and see if there is a point where the snoring is mitigated by pressure. The summary statistics you posted last page show AHI results are okay at pressures of 7-17, but that is not an ideal setup for the Philips Auto. I would think a minimum pressure of 12 is going to get things done a lot better. Let's look at the data so we don't have to guess.

I may have confused you my, suggestion of 10-11 then working up to 15-17 was for the minimum pressure, I should have used a single number, as that way is normally for the minimum and maximum way of writing it. I said I was a novice
Normal is to follow your median or average pressure up, but there is no harm in using 12 as a min it's only 1cm above your current average. you can always adjust it later as you fine tune into the average or median, depending what one you use.

ajack, what SleepRider is saying is that the Phillips Respironics machines don't act as fast as a ResMed machine, therfore this should be taken into consideration.

I agree that the minimum pressure should be raised to 12cm min, and it wouldn't hurt to open the max up to 20.  

Seeing the daily graphs page would be helpful.

Great advice by Sleeprider and Opal Rose above. The data from Sleepyhead will be key in nailing down the optimal range. At this point we are just guessing. Although those two are giving you very well educated guesses...
