Obtaining ASV in Sydney or NSW Australia due to Complex Apnea?

Obtaining ASV in Sydney or NSW Australia due to Complex Apnea?
http://www.apneaboard.com/forums/Thread-...ice?page=2

Was suggested making a thread to see if anyone has any experiences with obtaining an ASV in Sydney/NSW?

People in the thread suggested this as a potential solution to my Central Apnea and reduction of Obstructive events on an APAP machine.

Thanks!

We have members in AU that have purchased advanced PAP in and out of country, and I look forward to their input here. This is a link to your therapy thread if they want more background on your central apnea. http://www.apneaboard.com/forums/Thread-...Any-advice

The Resmed CS Pacewave is an ASV equivalent to the Aircurve 10 ASV. That is how the machine is beanded in AU. It would be interesting to see if you can hire the machine before buying.

I got an ASV machine for hire via ResMed for my UARS. Definitely possible for complex sleep apnea

Although the masks they give are bad and they don't help you titrate the machine

If you need a prescription (I didn't), you can ask them who has prescribed it in the past and go to them.

Can you elaborate how you hired it via resmed? I don't see an option to hire an ASV, only see it for CPAP.

Also with regards to Supplier 13. It doesn't seem you can rent a ASV, only a ResMed AirSense™ 10 AutoSet™.

I think I want to try it out before spending a lot on it.

Rent first sounds fair enough. It's not like they are cheap.

My Centrals were at 48/hr untreated. I had to buy my ASV out of pocket along with consumables. As much as I would have liked to have had some form of insurance cover all or part, they would not. That said, the money I spent on my ASV was worth every penny. I feel so much better using it. And countless health issues resolved or improved dramatically.

If you can rent one, perhaps that will provide some time for prices to get back to normal and/or give you time to search for a bargain on a new or used ASV.
