Oscar Quit Working
I downloaded Oscar last May and have used it since when I am having a sleep issue, and it has worked great.
However suddenly it has stopped working. When I put my SD card in the computer it appears to download, but then I can not read it. I go to View and click on "View Daily", and nothing happens. Last week when I clicked on View
Daily the Graph with all the data for the night would come up, but this week nothing happens, so I can not read any data. I tried uninstalling Oscar and reinstalling it, but it still does the same thing, and when I click on View Daily nothing comes up. Can someone please tell me how to fix it? My machine is a new Airsense and I am running Oscar on Windows on a laptop. Thanks.

Moving this to the Software Support forum to see if we can get you some more help.
Is the SD card the same one you've used before? Sometimes they do go bad.
RE: Oscar Quit Working
stillsleepy2 - There is a misconception that you need OSCAR to access your SD card. This is not the case. The mounting (connection) to a storage device is dependent on your computer's operating system. Once a storage device is mounted, any application can access it. In your case, this will be a drive letter.
Based on the above, without OSCAR running, let's test the SD card. Insert the SD card in your SD reader. Open Windows Explorer (Windows Key + E), and verify that you can see the SD card and its drive letter. If you can, then select the card's drive letter to view its contents. If you have been successful to this point, try either copying or writing a small file (any kind) to the card. Having passed the previous step, remember to delete this file.
If any of the previous steps fail, you need a new card.
I will end this now, and wait to hear your results.

RE: Oscar Quit Working
Hi Crimson, thanks for your help. I sincerely appreciate it!
I think I did not specifically state the problem, and it occurs prior to the CD card check you give. The problem I am having is even prior to putting the CD card in the computer.
When I open Oscar on my computer I get a screen that is frozen. The top Line has two boxes, and one says Profile and one says Statistics. Under that is a gray line across the page with six columns, the first says Profile, the second says Ventilator Brand, the third says Ventilator Model etc. Under that gray line are two Profiles. It appears to be the page where you click on which Profile you want to open.
However the problem is that the whole page is frozen. The top line that says Profile and Statistics is frozen, and all of the lines under it are frozen. If you click
on a profile nothing happens, and anywhere else on that page you can click and nothing happens. I have not put my CD card in yet and it is frozen. At the very top of the page are the four toolbars or whatever they are called that say File View Data and Help, and those work and if you click on them a drop down box opens, but when I click on the categories in the drop down box nothing happens.
Two more pieces of information--I was out of town last week and I was using an older Airsense I use only for traveling. I was reading the CD card on Oscar every day, and it worked fine. I came back Monday January 1 and used my newer Airsense home and Oscar is frozen. I tried both cards and it is frozen. Does the fact that it is not a different year matter. I have no clue what is causing it. I am barely computer literate and about my only fix is to uninstall and reinstall an app. Thanks.
RE: Oscar Quit Working
PS-Like I said, it is frozen before you even put the SD card in. When I do put either SD card in I get notifications that say the SD card is downloading, but once it is downloaded I can not read the data, because the screen is frozen. Incidentally I may have accidentally said CD card in the last post, but I mean SD card. Thanks again.
RE: Oscar Quit Working
If you are using the same SD card for a 10 and 11 series, you will have problems. The 11 series has changed some file extensions. OSCAR can only assume the 11's files are the newest and will ignore the older extensions. You need to insert the SD card into your computer prior to starting OSCAR. An application may only look for the connected devices at startup, and may not see one that is mounted after the program's initialization. Since I don't use an SD card for data import into OSCAR, I'm uncertain if it will see the SD card. From prior user reports, I know this to be the fact on a Mac computer.

RE: Oscar Quit Working
Nape, thanks again for your help. I appreciate it.
You seem to think I am a new user and trying to get it running for the first time. However I have been using it for 8 months and it has worked well even last week, and this week has suddenly stopped working doing exactly the same thing I have been doing, because the Open Profile screen is frozen. I have two SD cards and both worked last week and neither one works this week. Regardless of whether I put the SD card in first, or open OSCAR first, the Open Profile screen is frozen.
When I put the SD card in and download the data, I get a message that the data is downloading, but then I can not see the data because the Open Profile screen is frozen. There are three profiles but you can not click on any of them and open one, so you can not read the data.
I think the issue is why is the Open Profile screen frozen. Does anyone have an ideas how to fix this so that the Open Profile screen will start working again, and I can click on a profile and read the data? I tried uninstalling and reinstalling, but may not have done it right, since I am not highly computer literate. Thanks.
RE: Oscar Quit Working
By chance, are you running Windows11?

RE: Oscar Quit Working
Red, no it is Windows 10. Same computer and system for the last 8 months.
RE: Oscar Quit Working
Just in case your video driver got updated, try this. Let's try changing OSCAR's graphics rendering engine. Hold down the shift key when you start OSCAR. Each time you start OSCAR in this fashion, it will toggle it to the previous engine.
