Oscar results and advice please

Oscar results and advice please
Hi all,

I was recently diagnosed via at home sleep study for sleep apnea. I have had it for probably 2-3 years or more but it has got worse over time as i have got bigger (bodybuilding).

I bought myself a Resmed 10 with water chamber and heated hose, and a Resmed P30i Nasal pillow mask.

I've been using it for around a month now, the first week was a struggle getting used to the mask, but by the second and third week i started sleeping better and stopped needing to get up for the toilet. AHI was around 2-3. This last week or so however I have been waking again in the night and having bad sleeps like i did before i started, my AHI has been creeping up usually around 6-10.

While i am generally a nose breather in my sleep, i do think i tend to open my mouth sometimes and my girlfriend has confirmed that by being awoken by the rush of air coming out. Also, i am awoken sometimes by the pillows slipping out my nose when im on my side sometimes and the rush of air wakes me up.

Can someone have a look at my screenshots and let me know if there is anything i can change settings wise to help, and is it worth trying a full face mask? Also, i saw in another thread its worth using 1 pillow instead of 2, currently using 2 at the moment.

Really appreciate any advice!

Most of your events are centrals and your pap machine can’t stop them. A more expensive pap that can treat them is out there for about 2x as much money.

Although we can’t treat them we can try to avoid them. EPR is a problem when a person has centrals we limit their EPR.

You are at EPR 3. Try a night at 2 then try 1 and finally 0. See how that effects the centrals. Use which is the best for you.

I will let others talk about possible pap machines that would help.

You definitely are mouth leaking. The leak rate chart shows this. You may want to consider using tape, such as BSN Cover Roll or a chin strap, such as the Knightsbridge cap.

Lankylefty, Jason, has some excellent youtube videos on this and worth checking out.

Appreciate the replys.

I've bought some tape and am laying in bed right now with my mask and my mouth taped closed. I'm surprised my girlfriend hasn't jumped me already ?.

Adjusted epr down to 2 last night and did have a better sleep without needing to get up for toilet, but it still wasn't the best. I also forgot to check my results. Going to give 1 a try and see how I get on with that now.
