Oxygen into CPAP hose when at high altitude
I have been using an Airsense 10 for a few months successfully. I will be traveling to Copper Mountain (base 10k, top of lifts 13k) next month. In the past I have had horrible sleep issues at Copper, but last season I rented an oxygen machine. Wow. I have never slept so well. So on this trip my plan was to take the airsense and rent an oxygen machine again. I notice that resmed has a heated tube (like I currently use), that also has an oxygen port on it. Does anyone have experience with that? Could I just hook up the oxygen machine on the same settings that I had last year, and hook it to the tube? Could it be that easy, or do I need to do more? Any thoughts would be appreciated!

RE: Oxygen into CPAP hose when at high altitude
How did you managed to rent an O2 machine? I'm fairly new to being on a cpap and was at 8000 feet a few weeks back - im using wesper to track sleep and o2 desats etc - it's FDA approved to do so.
I had an AHI (4%) of 44 with an SP02 nadir of 77% - this was without CPAP....... I'm hoping cpap makes a difference but may go the 02 route.....

Link to Copper Mountain Oxygen has been removed citing Apnea Board Rule #5.

you don't need to do anything except plug in the air hone on to the oxygen port - nothing else. (you need a constant flow NOT a pulse Oxygen concentrator).

Looking at their website I would be willing to bet they have experience working with CPAP devices.
Enjoy your time there. |
