RE: Bleep Sleep Mask
I import from the states I purchase from Supplier #14 I buy a years worth of ports at a time the discounts for bulk purchase help reduce the costs but it’s still not a cheap option I use a forwarder rather than a direct ship. Also not import duties are also due for me importing from outside the EU

Thanks for the info. I actually saw your post in another topic where you mentioned supplier 14 and checked them out. I am afraid to make a bigger order and then not like the mask at all.

RE: Bleep Sleep Mask
I was checking to see if there were any further new users of the Bleep.  I obviously am doing something wrong sticking those pads to my nose and lining the ports up correctly.  Besides feeling like Dumbo's trunk is swinging from my nose, My AHI reading jumps in about 10 minutes to 5 or so and I feel like I am not breathing right, so off comes the trunk, er hose.  Tried it for 3 nights, saw videos on how to correctly place the pads and even read the instructions (!), but i haven't conquered the thing yet.  Will keep trying cause I am now unable to use my P10.  Just moved from Colorado and 8500' altitude to NC at about 937' altitude and am struggling to adjust my Resmed AirSense and P10 pillows and/or the Bleep.  Tried the same 6cm setting I used in Colorado but cannot figure out if it is too high or two low, but I have to rip the mask off within minutes 'cause I am struggling to breathe properly.  In a month, I only had one night with a 1.1 AHI with a medium pillow.  Tried using medium again, but had to remove the mask and go without CPAP once again.  Basically am not using CPAP 'cause I cannot find the proper pressure.  Even tried using the APAP function, but no better luck.  What I have been unable to discover is if a person goes from high altitude to sea level, should CPAP pressure be adjusted downward or upward?  I thought perhaps more pressure since the air is heavier at sea level, but just don't know.  Using my previous setting of 6 or 7cm, I had hoped to use that as a springboard.  Also, I stopped using my 2L of O2 concentrator once I came to NC since there is more O2 here.  Anyone have any info that might help?  Thanks.

RE: Bleep Sleep Mask
please keep this topic updated with how you get used to the bleep mask. I just ordered one from the US to GErmany and will get it in a couple of weeks, so any advice on how to make it more comfortable and how to stick it correctly will be appreciated

First of all, I HIGHLY recommend contact Stuart at Bleep for help with your issues attaching the ports and lining them up. He is the CEO and an incredible resource for us Bleep users. He will be happy to help you.

Second, it seems like you have an autoset machine (for Her). Are you using it as a straight CPAP machine or as an APAP,? It sounds like CPAP, with a straight setting of 6. Could you try using it on auto with a starting pressure of 6? You could set it at 6-20. That might sound scary if you have had it set at 6, but you need to know that the machine will only go as high as it needs to go to help you and probably nowhere near the upper range. If that is too intimidating you could always start with something like 6-12 and see how that goes. Then post some OSCAR charts and let the REAL experts here on the boards help you fine tune things!

Oh, and welcome to NC!

RE: Bleep Sleep Mask
I have been using this mask for the last 3 nights and I have to admit that its really interesting.

This is the only mask that I have been able to sleep with besides the Dreamwear nasal cradle and Airfit n30i. The Bleep is super comfortable when you get in the right position with it, having no gear around your head is amazing. Breathing through it also feels incredibly natural, nothing I tried so far compares to it.

There are 3 things that bother me though :

1. I am so used to having masks where the tube is on the back of my head, that I dont know what to do with the tube with the Bleep mask. I have something above the bed to make the tube come down from it but its not comfortable with this mask. And I also wake up during the night because I try to rotate on my other side and then I start pulling the cabling which is not pleasant at all.

2. I am a really restless person and having things on my face makes me anxious. So having this glued on my face will take some time to get used to even though its actually really soft and comfortable. The problem is when I have an itch, I cant scratch it and it makes me feel more and more restless.

3. My wife is complaining that after putting this mask on I cant give her a kiss before going to sleep Tongue

I think that the hose part that I got also might be defected but I will contact the company about that. the hose can be rotated around just under the connectors for the nose but for some reason it gets really loud when I move it. Need to do some digging into that and contact the company.

All in all - I would definitely recommend this to anyone who doesnt move too much during the night. I do find that its comfortable and easy to breathe with.

I wanted to follow up on this after a couple more days of using it, just to update on the things that I mentioned in the post above :

1. I read somewhere that people put hose of the mask under their tshirts when they sleep, tried this last night and it was surprisingly comfortable. I also saw the cable management suggestions on Bleeps websites and having a part behind your head behind the pillow worked great for me. So I am slowly finding the right position for it and its honestly much more comfortable to sleep with than any other mask, in the right position it really feels like you have nothing on your face at all.

Number 2 and 3 are more of a personal thing so I have to get used to it Big Grin

As for the mask defect - this was a combination of me not connecting the hose to the nose parts completely and the exhaust vent just hitting other parts of the mask which amde it very loud. I contacted the company and Stuart suggested a home made work around which worked and he also sent me a part which they will release this month, I am looking forward to trying that.

He also mentioned that they will release a newer version of the hose around August, it should be lighter.

All in all, definitely my favorite mask so far.

RE: Bleep Sleep Mask
I made my own modifications, I use a Resmed P10 hose it’s lighter and pushes straight on the swivel I also use a Resmed filter with a hole in the middle pushed up the tube covering the vent it makes a great diffuser of the blast of air but does not block the flow.

RE: Bleep Sleep Mask
As a regular Resmed p10 user I decided to give the bleep a shot to see what the fuss was all but I didn't particularity care for it.  Like someone else mentioned felt like I had a elephant trunk hanging from my nose even after replacing the hose with one of my old P10's hoses although I do admit it was lesser of a feeling with the lighter p10 hose.  I also didn't particularity care for the stick on dream ports either, they seem to be a bit cost prohibitive at a dollar a night and that's not including the numerous wasted ones that I didn't put on correctly and they leaked, occasionally I also get the urge to take a nap during and I fell like thats even more a waste of money just to use a pair for an hour or two. I'm not particularity fond of the time wasted standing in front of a mirror getting everything set up right either, where I can just throw my p10 in a half a second and be done with it. As far as a backup for my p10, I think I will hang on to it though, its kind of nice at times not to have to have to wear any headgear.
