Breas Z2 Travel CPAP
Breas Z2 Travel CPAP
A. Value is great. Apria had a sale for $580
B. Works as advertised.
C. It is quite small. Comes with hose, muffler and Heat Moisture Exchanger. It accepts mask I use with my ResMed. With muffler and moisture gizmo, air flow at mask may be ever so slightly louder than my Airsense 10. Machine itself is quiet and I can not hear it. I had previously purchased a ResMed mini but returned it because it was very loud. This is nothing like that. It has settings for ramp and pressure relief during exhale. Needs no water and I have had no "dryness issues" even though I live in a very dry climate. It has an auto start feature that starts when you breath into the mask. A phone based app is available for viewing data. Instructions are well done.
D. The recommended air filter replacement is once a month but I guess that is a lot of traveling. Recommended replacement schedule for Heat Moisture Exchanger is every 7 days but I'm not sure why. The exchanger is a piece of foam in a plastic cartridge that goes in the hose to mask connection. I have not used it enough to evaluate real need to replace. The PC based app did not show pressure variations so thought something was wrong. Data from phone app is limited but shows average pressure variations. It would be nice if it could provide Oscar level data.
E. Setting pressure relief to 3 provided the quietest air flow at mask. Lack of pressure variations in PC app prompted me to contact Breas tech support by email. Support was excellent.
General
I have not tried the battery option. Control panel is small so not as user friendly as a full size machine but it is a great trade off for such a small machine. I'm not a morning person so can't compare how I feel when waking but data from an O2 ring looks good when using the Z2.
