PAPMD mouth tape
From an ad on FaceBook, I found the PAPMD brand of mouth tape a few days ago. I have tried three other tapes in attempts to keep my mouth shut during sleep. All three failed. For the first time in 15 years of CPAP therapy I woke without a desert dry mouth today. Even with a full beard, PAPMD tape holds my mouth shut. I cannot force my mouth open with the tape applied which makes it a bit scary but highly effective. Evidently the maker of this product has had experience with mouth taping that is not strong enough. It is very sticky which is probably why it works.
Each tape is a rectangular patch 2" x 3.5". The patch is so sticky it is somewhat difficult to remove from the backing. Once off the backing it can easily stick to itself. Removing it takes quit a pull. I suspect my beard is part of what makes its removal such an effort. Even though the tapes are very sticky they do not leave a residue when removed.
I bought a pack of 30 for $24 which I consider expensive. The tapes cost less the more you buy. It is a strange sensation to have this tape patch over the mouth but the sensation faded quickly. I am hoping they improve my sleep. I rarely get decent sleep even with CPAP therapy. At least with this tape I will not be waking with an incredibly dry mouth.

RE: PAPMD mouth tape
I've been hearing good things about this stuff.
One has to wonder thou: it's probably just someone else's tape, being rebadged and sold as "PAP" tape.
Would be interesting to figure out who the OEM is.
RE: PAPMD mouth tape
Papmd tape is a stretchy fabric with an adhesive that grips better than any type of roll medical tapes I have found so far. Each strip is mounted to a textured paper card. The strip has to be peeled off the card. The adhesive is so sticky it does not allow this tape to be in a roll.
I would like to find a product that costs less if it exists, but this tape may be unique.

Update:
After using tape strip number 20 I am disappointed in PAPmd mouth tape. Half of the tapes do not have as strong adhesive as others so half the nights of using them my mouth comes open with tape on. Upon waking it is obvious the tape has not stuck as well as others due to it being so easy to remove. I have begun testing the applied tapes by gently attempting to open my mouth. I can tell prior to sleep if the tape is holding strong or not.
I have ordered a roll of cover roll stretch tape which I think may be a similar type product for much less money.
My situation is unique. The cover roll tape will be the fourth type/brand of tape I will try. It may be that my mouth cannot be taped closed during sleep. Others have success taping with the various tapes I've tried. If PAPmd can explain how I can get packs of their tape strips that all will hold as firmly as some did, I may buy them again.

Cover-Roll brand tape I found at Amazon is the most effective thing I have found to keep the mouth closed during sleep. It leaves a bit of sticky residue and is more difficult to remove than any of the four other products I've tried. I guess this is the price of a tape that really does the job.

I have found that a small piece of this tape (2" x 1 1/8") will firmly hold my mouth closed as well as the 4" x 2" strips I had first cut from the roll. I was imitating the size of the PAPmd tapes by the larger pieces. The smaller piece is 80% more comfortable than the 4"x2", and much easier to remove.
This brand of tape never came up on any search for tape for keeping the mouth closed during sleep. It is some sort of medical tape probably for bandaging. It is very strong material and adhesive yet removes from a bearded face without pain.
My OSCAR reports are looking better and I am feeling better after sleep for the first time in 15 years of CPAP therapy. I think the mouth tape makes a difference and the Cover-Roll by Leukoplast made in Germany brand is very economical. I discovered it here from another member of this forum.

RE: PAPMD mouth tape
Update on Cover Roll Tape. The small amount of tape I used to successfully keep my mouth shut during sleep had to be stopped. The tape was pulling the skin off my lips to the point of causing sores. I am returning to a larger piece of tape and before application, pressing lips together to hopefully not have the adhesive on lips. If that does not work I will try applying lip balm before sticking the tape to my face.
