Sandals Resort Jamaica and my machine

Sandals Resort Jamaica and my machine
The wife and I will be traveling to Jamaica next month and staying in a Sandals Resort for our anniversary. I spoke to customer service and they do not have Distilled water on the resort but mentioned I should but it on the Butler sheet. I have done this but would like some kind of confirmation that it will be there. Has anyone made this trip and were you able to get water? Other than bringing my machine as my carry-on, any other advice?

You do not need distilled water. If you can drink it, then it is safe to use in your humidifier.

Interesting... that was not what I was told by my provider. But even so 4 days couldn't hurt...

When I travel places without easy to get distilled water I just use bottled water or other drinking water. When you get home clean the humidifer to remove any mineral deposits. Distilled water is what you want to use to keep cleaning needs down but it's safe to use any drinking water.

Thank you both for the info. Super excited about this trip and just want to continue using the machine while there because I feel so much better. We were young, dumb, and broke when we got married and never got a honeymoon so i want to be in top shape. Tongue

I get a cheap house brand of .5 ltr bottled waters at Harris Teeter that is reverse osmosis filtered but does not have added minerals "for flavor.
It's indistinguishable from distilled as far as I can tell. I'm sure there are other sources for it.

Also it helps to fill the tank as full as possible and dump it every morning as opposed to just adding water. This avoids a buildup of minerals.

I have used tap water in my machines since 2008. For well water, I use a zero-water filter. You can use the resort drinking water with no problems. Empty the chamber every day and wipe dry, have a great time!
