Rainout

I started using the AirSense 10 Autoset for her a week ago and I've been suffering from rainout every night. I keep playing with the settings, but I feel like I'm going backwards instead of improving. Last night I turned the humidifier down to 1 with temp at 80F and only got a little over an hour of sleep before I woke up with water running on my nose.

Does anyone use this with the humidifier turned off? Does it still work ok? If I can just get this part dealt with, I think I might be able to get used to it. What sleep I do get feels pretty good with AHI under 2. I'm getting frustrated though.

You could try it in "passive" mode. That is where the heat is off but there is water in the tank.

I think I read in another thread where this is a problem with the A10s.

I keep my bedroom pretty cool at night, so I had this problem at first, too. I bought a fleece hose cover on Amazon, and it helped a lot more than I thought it would. I've also got my hose draped so there's a loop down from the machine, then back up to my bed, so any condensation that does form runs back downhill to the loop.

I'm sure other, more experienced members will be along with advice, too.

I had the same rainout problem just after I started using my A10 Autoset. The hose even filled up with water at the bottom of a section hanging below the bed causing surging and gurgling.

My DME suggested and provided the ResMed heated climateline hose. I set the humidity level and hose temperature to Auto. I have not had any problem with rainout since that time.

If you don't already have a heated hose, it may be an easy solution to your problem.

I leave mine on Auto too. No rainout.

I have a heated hose and have had it on auto. It was originally set to 85F with humidity on 5, so not surprising at those settings. I've slowly turned the humidity down to 1 on auto and I'm still getting wet. It's not a few droplets either. My face is dripping and the mask has water running off of it. I even tried putting the machine lower than the bed and still ended up choking on it.

I emptied the chamber and turned the humidity off for tonight. I'll let you know how it goes.

my wife had the same problem on her 550 auto. I checked her machine.Dry hose wet mask.
Her own breath was condensing in her mask.
no heated hose so juSt warmed up the bed room a bit.
see if hose is for sure wet. If not your condensing your mask with your oWn breathe.

ill get wife a heatd hose this winter.
Dont like bedroom that warm.

the hose is definitely wet. I have to hang it to drain and dry. I can see the water droplets throughout the hose.

Resmed has a web page discussing how to cure rainout conditions. I also discuss it under another thread entitled Airsense 10 auto set malfunction. Get the hose cover. Turn up the room temperature. Put the hose under your covers. Set the line on auto. Keep us posted.
