Relation between AHI and HIIT or other intense cardio training
Is it true that high intensity cardio training like HIIT or walking stairs or other activities that increase your heart rate and improves your health decreases your apnea events?
for OSA i can understand because losing weight means losing neck fat and fat overall, which reduces the blockage in the throat.
But what about CSA?
does HIIT also improve CSA and lower the CSA events? how does this work?
As far as i can remember i didn't feel nearly as bad 8? years ago when i was very active and did jogging and stuff, after a knee injury i stopped running and had a sedentary lifestyle and smoked a lot of weed (which is not good for the brain and breathing part of the brain).
I lost even more weight even tho i quit exercise because i barely at but my apnea symptoms started to get so much worse, i was wondering if that's because i lead a sedentary lifestyle and barely workout at all anymore?

So nobody has an answer?

I tend to think Central Apnea are less affected by weight than Obstructive. At worst, CA can be caused from brain or nervous system damage. Not always though, as I had a time of predominantly Central Apnea, not brain damaged (if you ask the right people).
Central Apnea is fundamentally a long breath pause.

you had a time of predominantly central apnea? so you don't have that anymore? i don't suffer from any brain damage or heart failure but i still have moderate CSA

RE: Relation between AHI and HIIT or other intense cardio training
I state it that way, because in 2017 my sleep study report had 124 Central Apnea to 24 Obstructive Apnea. Due to also having COPD, and after having pneumonia in 2019, and the ASV treatment was no longer syncing with my breath patterns. I had to try getting a ventilator, and of course the requirement to test again, of which I did several times, but can't produce the results necessary to get the order. Each newer test had CA getting less, for whatever reason.
Currently, I'm on no therapy. Last was a new attempt at VAuto, a first for me. No-go as it's not the right device. I need ST-A or full ventilator like ResMed Astral 150, due to COPD.

Very strange that your CSA keeps getting less bad, did you do something in your life that might be the cause of that?
with 124 CSA events (i'm guessing per hour) you must feel horrible every day. does that get less bad as well now that the AHI get's lower and lower as well?

RE: Relation between AHI and HIIT or other intense cardio training
I can't explain why the CA got less. I'm certainly and unfortunately not feeling much better, not much worse either. I don't recall the most recent study numbers, but all are somewhat less than in 2017. Using my 2017-19 ASV therapy when good as a benchmark, my sleep is not at that good level it was. However it's not at the absolute terrible before the ASV either.
My weight isn't at its highest as I did bariatric sleeve surgery in '16, getting the high of 300 lbs down to a consistent 225 now. Somehow I'm thinking there's some more COPD based affecting me than Apnea, but not enough to have objective data to treat.
