Replacement parts schedule
For the Resmed AirSense 10 Autoset for Her, the replacement schedule is as follows:
Monthly - mask cushion, air filter
Every 3 months - Mask frame, air tubing
Every 6 months - Headgear, water tub
I have had the machine about 1/2 year and have replaced the mask cushion a few times and the filter a few times. Is there any good reason to stick to the manufacturer's schedule if I keep my equipment clean, or are they just selling parts?

RE: Replacement parts schedule
They're just selling parts, and it's safe to ignore any such schedule offered by a manufacturer.
A typical replacement schedule used by insurers is in the wiki
here, but I don't know whether that's U.S. only or Canada also. That, too, is overkill in a lot of ways. Two filters per month? I replace mine once a month, and that seems fine. Nasal pillow/cushion every 1 month or 3 months, depending on whom you believe? No way. Mine has been going fine for 8, and I have a replacement but haven't needed it yet. And so on. New tubing every 3 months? Absurd.
Of course, the mfrs (of anything & everything) would probably tell us that if we don't replace all parts early & often, the economy will grind to a halt.
RE: Replacement parts schedule
I like having the extra spare parts on hand. When I do accomplish that, I will decide how often to swap parts out.
I have three pillows, one hose, and a face mask on hand. The only things I don't have on hand, is the reservoir and the head gear.
I clean / reuse the filters. A piece of cake to clean them. I have extras, but am still using the one that came in the machine when I got it on Sept. 10th of this year.
RE: Replacement parts schedule
Unless you get them for free through your insurance, I personally wouldn't bother.

Mine don't mention the economy -- they tell me I will die from a horrible infection known as the "creeping crud" which causes farfalonous of the blowhole. I am just happy that they do not re-package Dawn dishwashing soap and sell it to me at $60 per 2-oz. bottle as part of the "manufacturer approved cleaning regimen."

My insurance covers approx. 80% of all scheduled supplies / parts.

RE: Replacement parts schedule
I change my filter once per month . As for the cushions I use them for at least 6 months with the Amara View mask . The one I am using right now has lasted 7 months and I still get 0 leaks . For the headgear I had my wife make liners for the straps so I only have to wash the liners and keep the headgear from wearing out . I have used my present headgear for 3 years now .
My insurance will only cover me for a total of $300.00 per year for everything which includes , masks , cushions , filters etc., etc. so I have to economize .
I don't believe what the manufacturers say about replacement . They have their own best interests at heart and not yours .
RE: Replacement parts schedule
The filter is the only thing I change per the recommended schedule. They may be good for longer but it's as much bother to check as to replace and they only cost about $0.40. As for everything else I ignore the recommended schedule. I keep one spare of everything and use each component until it fails. I find the Resmed humidifiers develop leaks at around 10-12 months. I've been using my first heated hose for a year since I got it. I've been using my original AirFit F20 mask and cushion for 23 months. As long as you keep things reasonably clean there is no risk of infection.

That's good to know that they will last that long. I clean mine everyday and they are doing great! I'm shooting for a minimum of a year of use.
