Follow up appt and SH report
Hi All,
I have my follow up appointment a week from Monday.  I want to get some ideas of what I should be looking at when I talk to the doctor.  I feel like I still have a lot of apneas and they seem to cluster with as many as 18 at a time.  I have attached my sleepyhead report from last night.  Anybody have any suggestions?

My thoughts maybe up the lower pressure?  It's currently at 6.

Thanks

Hi Chailes, welcome to Apnea Board.

It's good to see that you're using #SleepyHead - it will make a big difference to getting your treatment optimised (though your doctor may not know about it). To allow us to give the best advice, can I suggest you give us a daily chart rather than the summary - you can see you to properly format it here: http://www.apneaboard.com/wiki/index.php...ganization

Based on the information you've given us it looks like you're doing pretty well, but there is room for improvement. If you're seeing clusters of obstructive apneas, it may be caused by your sleeping position - try sleeping on your side or else get hold of a soft cervical collar (available from pharmacies). A lot of people sleep with their chin tucked down to the chest which constricts the airway, and the collar helps overcome that.

That doesn't look too bad, really. You can see that the machine spends most of its time between 10 and 12 cmH2O, and the median pressure is 11.34. In your place I'd increase the minimum pressure in easy steps (eg increase by 1cm, leave a few nights then increase again). Monitor your results every morning and see if the increases are leading you to a sweet spot.

Vertically shrink the Snore and Leak charts and add the Flow Limit chart (you can vertically shrink it too if you need to.  Flow limits are one of the events that drive pressure changes in auto machines.
