Here's a quick history and then a question.
About 2.5 years ago, I was dx'd with apnea. I used a ResMed AirSense 10. After a year, I gave up and put my machine away.
Recently, I developed a health problem affecting vision and the specialist told me of a possible association with apnea and recommended that I treat the apnea so as to reduce the risk of recurrence. So, I'm working hard to get the hang of using my CPAP machine again.
I recently plugged in my ResMed AirSense 10, but it didn’t work. The DME sent it for repair. While my machine was being repaired, I used a loaner ResMed AirSense 10 For Her for over a month. With the For Her machine, my upper pressures over the last month were consistently in the range of 12-13, or 14 max every night. I felt best when pressure was 12--13.
A week ago, I picked up my repaired ResMed AirSense 10. I was told that they replaced all of the inner workings of my machine. So, I’m using my ResMed AirSense 10 and I'm waking every morning bloated, and feeling spacey for hours. My upper pressures are consistently running higher at 15-16 every night, as compared to the 12-14 with the For Her loaner machine.
Pressure settings on the loaner For Her machine were 8-16. Pressure settings on my repaired AirSense 10 is 6-16.
Would the lower minimum pressure with AirSense 10 have anything to do with higher pressures every night?
Or, does it seem more likely that the algorithm on the regular AirSense 10 machine is resulting in higher pressures than the For Her machine?
Or does this seem like normal variation between the two machines?
Are there other ideas of why the pressure may going higher with my AirSense 10 machine as compared to the For Her machine?
I'm so grateful to have found this forum. A BIG thanks to all of you that are helping by answering questions.
