Resmed Air Sense 10 acting weird and bloating
So lately I just started back on my ResMed AirSense 10 cause I bought a chinstrap to keep me from opening my mouth when I sleep. Worked ok the first night. Second night it felt like it was really hard to exhale cause there was so much air being rushed in my nose. So I turned it off and back on and it was much smoother but as the night went on I got extremely bloated. Burping and farting like crazy. The wife didnt apprecite it much. The third night I decided to turn down the Max pressure by going into clinic mode. I bumped down from 15 to 12. Still got bloating. Fourth night I put my pillows on and it was really hard to exhale again because there was so much air coming thru it. Its like there is no ramp time. What gives?

RE: Resmed Air Sense 10 acting weird and bloating
Have you ruled out dietary causes and systemic issues like gastroenteritis?
I suggest you download #Sleepyhead and post the charts so we can see what the machine appears to be doing to pressure and flow. I suggest you consider taking a couple of maximum strength simethicone capsules prior to bed for gas relief -- it breaks up large painful gas bubbles for easier passage. Have you verified that the machine is set properly for the hose and mask you are using? As for your wife's reaction, blame it on the dog. If you don't have a dog, practice looking innocent in the mirror.

Also, download #SleepyHead software and start looking at your data. Your machine should have an SD card.
Once you are up and running, read the tutorials in my signature line to show you how to organize the #SleepyHead graphs and use attachments to post here.

You didn't mention if you were using EPR. If not I would set the EPR to step 2 or 3 full time to help you exhale easier. Also following the advice above will help.

EPR would be the first thing I would do if it is not turned on.
You don't say if it is an Autoset you have, but going by the fact you have two pressures it is. Your machine should only go to the pressure that you require so it should only go up to 15 if you require it. Make sure EPR is turned on so you can breathe out easier. If you are having this much trouble I would set it at three and see how it goes, if you can do with a lower number I would use one.

Hi Truvol,
WELCOME! to the forum.! You might try to either use more pillows or raise the head of your bed, to help you gett rid of the bloating. Good luck with CPAP therapy, hang in there for more responses to your post.
