Resmed Airsense 10 Heated Hose Issue

Resmed Airsense 10 Heated Hose Issue
Has anyone run across an Airsense 10 that does not heat up your hose?  I cannot set my machine on manual with a humidity setting over 5 with a hose temp of 85 and not get rain out.   I Am on my second replacement for this and they still do not heat up the hose.  My supplier is not responding to me.   My hose does not get warm and am also on my third hose with the same results.   Two machines and 3 hoses doing the same.

Hi Jschiner and welcome to the group!

If you can, try making sure your machine is lower than your head and if possible raise the hose up and you will find rainout should stop. Hose Buddy works well. Google it. It is something you can buy to raise your hose up and over your head. I use one and never have rainout anymore. I also have my machine 2 feet lower than my head. Works well for me.

Same issue, max I can use is setting 5 with temp 86 to avoid rainout reliably. I’ll post a link in another post.

Cate, Have all the tricks going on.  This is my first experience with using a heated hose.  Paid extra so that I would not get the rainout but I think my machiner is defective because the hose does not get warm.  Does not matter what hose temperature I set, it just stays cool.  I am beginning to think that Resmed put out a batch of bad Airsense 10's that no one notices unless you use a heated hose.

Search google for

how to adjust humidair humidification

I would post a link but can’t since I don’t have 4 posts.

Anyway, the ResMed document that comes up in search will show a table with humidifier settings and temperature. Again, humidity 5 with temp 86 should be without rainout.

I wouldn't be surprised if ResMed sends out sub-par units for sale. I have one. It's the AirSense 10 Elite. Noisy, Noisy, Noisy. Didn't contact my supplier and now the warranty is over. Kind of forgot to. I switched over a year ago to Philips Respironics 560 AutoSet machine which I bought on sale and have been really happy with it. Much more so than I ever was with my ResMed machine.

Nothing wrong with the System One Auto or BiPAP units. I used my PRS1 760 for the first time in two years last night and was very comfortable.  My AC adapter failed on the Resmed Aircurve 10 Vauto.

The Resmed Airsense 10 humidifier works exactly as listed in the Resmed document I referenced. In other words, the max setting for humidity is 5 at a tube temp of 86.

That’s what they list, and that’s how mine works. That is also what the OP listed for humidity maxing at 5 and temp 85 without rainout. So, it’s not a subpar unit. It behaves exactly as Resmed document describes.

My Elite is very quiet, and my hose works.  If three hoses don't work, mebbe it's the internal circuitry to the heating system....as in, inside the Elite's housing?

My hose warmed up once for about 1 minute and never warmed up again.    Is the heated hose just a gimmic then?
