I'll pickup another card this week and give the autoSet first crack at formatting. This seems to be the way for most who've managed to escape this capricious error.

Thanks again, Red. You have that rare talent for comprehensive brevity.

So kind of you to bring the screenshot over, Red. I've now read Jeff's guide to attachments and, while this worked the first time, nothing appeared the second, hence the link after Preview. Anyway I'm off to study Greek, should be better educated by this time tomorrow. ; )

RE: A Bit Discouraged
Pam,
A suggestion..... stick with a brand name SD card this time around (if you have'nt already). Something like SanDisk or Samsung. I have had some off brand one's that didn't last a week, or the cases broke apart in my reader (PNY). Letting the machine format it would be the best bet, but if you do need to format it manually with your Mac there is a more reliable way to do it from the command line using Terminal. The GUI Disk Utility has failed me in the past.

RE: A Bit Discouraged
Great tip, Jeff. This one is a PNY and I sympathize. Will post progress after it arrives!

Thanks so much for this, Red. I was sure I responded last night from my cell yet I don't see it here. I'mm happy to say I now have the graphs I've read so much about thanks to a new, brand-name SD card. I didn't reformat and it was accepted without complaint. So grateful to everyone here. You all are so generous.

RE: A Bit Discouraged
Pam,
For those of us wondering, what brand and size SD card did you get that works now?
