SD card type and usage

SD card type and usage
Newbie here and WOW what a great informational site.

Quick question:
My Dr. and supplier arranged for ResMed airsense 10 autoset.  Machine is great.  Suggested F20 headgear is OK.
Myair scores are consistent 100 or 99.  15 days of data.
I was told the information is sent to Dr. by cell phone for insurance compliance.
I saw a SD slot and asked the Dr. office about it and they said you do not need it.....
I would like to use some of the software I read about here,.... so question is:

Do I need a special SD card?  Class ? Size? etc... I have no problem removing and loading manual to computer.

Does using the SD card defeat the cell phone download required by Dr. and insurance?

I travel to Asia frequently and I will not have cell phone usage at all times.  Does unit store data internally with or without SD card?
Internal storage I was told was over 1 year.... Not sure that was right.....Information source was receptionist at Dr. office.

Thanks for putting up with newbie and look forward to the knowledge as I read more posts.

Thanks again in advance.

It is also sent by cell phone to the myAir site.

If all you're interested in is the myAir data or the compliance data, then that's corect.

To use software like SleepyHead you will need the SD card as it records a lot more data than what is transmitted via cell phone.

The new machines come with a SD card, so whoever sold you the machine must have removed the card. I don't know what you need to buy as a replacement but I'm sure someone here can tell you. It's nothing special.

No.

Yes, but the highly detailed data gets erased after, I think, 7 days. When you do return to an area with cell service the stored myAir data will get transmitted.

ResMed supplies 2 gig. cards when they provide them, so anything 2 gig or over will work. Not sure about a class requirement, but I think it doesn’t matter.

Using the card will not affect the cell phone feature.

The cpap machine will only store limited compliance data in internal memory. You will need an sd card to get the detailed data you need.

Be sure to go into options in the clinical menu and make sure Essentials is set to plus instead of on, or the detailed data will not be loaded onto the sd card.

Any SD Card would work for this, as long as you choose between 2 GB -32 GB. I'd shop the least expensive I could find. Also brand doesn't matter either.

I got a couple of 32gb Flashair cards and we still have all of our data back to November 2016.
I estimate that we will be able to store 26 years of data.

I recently got a flashair card to try, being skeptical that it would work as advertised.

Followed the instructions on here and its working like a charm! No more moving card around and forgetting to put the thing back in!

Was pretty cheap too! About 25 bucks on Amazon.

The essentials setting does not change what is written to the SD card, but when set to plus provides more detail in the sleep report shown on the screen of the Resmed and a breakdown of the AHI.
