Red, I tried Dot Med. I tried contacting a few sellers and asking if they would sell without a script, no one replied.

Probably because they didn’t want to go against the script policy on all there medical devices.

So that leaves me the option of just putting it in my cart, paying and then hoping they send it, with my luck they will not refund and hold payment until I send a script.  Dont-know

My experience with Nurse Practitioners has been good lately. They can write prescriptions for most things and I have found them to often be more open-minded than MDs to things like patient self-advocacy.
Look, I'm an engineer, not a doctor! Please don't take my opinion as a substitute for medical advice.

I went in with everything, even myAir compliance report, Res med titration protocol, old sleep study
printed out flow graph + lap top . I made my case and was hoping one of these Doctors would have been savvy enough to say.  “ This guy knows what’s going on with his therapy, I’m going to help him “

I’m at the point of just calling around to all the pcp offices and asking if they have a Doctor that’s on staff that actually uses cpap. I feel at least I would have a shot. Or try one of those online rx replacement services.

I brought my laptop in for one appointment and showed him some of the graphs and he said this is more than the system we have to use gives us. He is totally on board with it and has recommended it and the forum to several patients.

Same here in Indianapolis. I think my doc was thrilled that I was interested enough in my own treatment to not only be compliant, but to want to optimize it. When I showed up for a mask fitting once, they were taking a call from someone returning their machine because they couldn't make CPAP work for them. I'll bet that happens a lot.
Still huffing on the magic machine.

Unfortunately, most sleep doctors are completely closed-minded when it comes to being inquisitive or learning new things.  If you find one that's not that way, you've found a rare gem.  Most are interested in getting you in and out quickly, creating a "billable event" (read:  $$$).  Sad but true.

My own sleep doctor is pretty much that way.   I meet with him once per year for insurance purposes.   A nice guy, but absolutely NO interest in hearing about what we do here, or about OSCAR.  He just takes my SD card, runs it through ResScan, comes back with a printed summary, asks 4 or 6 simplistic questions, says I'm doing great and keep up the good work.   Tried to speak with him about Apnea Board & OSCAR, attempting to pique his interest.  Told him it's the largest sleep apnea forum in the world and the OSCAR software is better than ResScan.  "That's great, glad you have that available to you.  Well, we'll see you next year, you can make an appointment with the receptionist on your way out".

Okay, thanks Doc.

It was like talking to a grumpy, self-absorbed automaton.   Annoyed-and-disappointed
