RE: SmartCard Readers
I have heard that the Encore software only works with the Infineer smartcard reader so that is what I bought. Can't say with certainty that it only works with that card reader, but I have been able to make encore work with the Infineer. FYI, this card reader does not show up as a drive in my computer -- running windows 8.1. I paid $30 for mine off ebay ($25 + shipping). Had been offered with a "a it now price" of (I think) $50 and I offered $20, settled on $25 + shipping. PLugged in and didn't need any drivers to make it work
