How reliable is ResMed FOT (with examples)?
I usually have very short apneas (about 10s) following arousal from position change or whatever, which I believed to be central caused by the deep arousal breaths. My ResMed VAuto 10 usually does not categorize them being too short but the longer apneas are identified as obstructive apneas. Some examples with EPAP=9 IPAP=14 PS=5 :
#1 Short 11s
#2 Medium 18s
#3 Long 29s! could this be a central?
#4 Mixed - short 12s obstructive followed by 14s central (out of screen, another 13s central happens after few breaths very similar to the CA seen)
#5 Zoomed view of #4. FOT pulses amplitude is indeed different between the OA and CA both in the flow and the mask pressure graphs.
Can we trust the FOT identifying these obstructives?
