Question
Contec CMS50S SpO2 meter
Hi. Is anyone using the Contec CMS50S and can give me some instructions on how to start the recording and download the data?

Android or Windows or Linux.

Thanks!

Ps: sorry, couldn't link to the product

RE: Contec CMS50S SpO2 meter
jens Welcome

I have not seen that particular model before. Many of the latest Contec models will start recording once you place the sensor on your finger. A quick Google search for the manual and it states:

Quote:After inserting the finger, the device recognizes the data and starts storing automatically; it will close storage automatically after pulling out the finger.

But that particular model is not listed as one of the OSCAR compatible oximeters: http://www.apneaboard.com/wiki/index.php...ntec_brand

It's also unclear if that particular model works with the "Smart Device Assistant" software which is typically use with Contec oximeters.

If this model didn't come with any software, check the documentation that accompanied the oximeter in the packaging. Some models will have a QR code or a website address to obtain the software.

RE: Contec CMS50S SpO2 meter
Thanks guys, I couldn't make it work with either the Smart Device Assistant software or the Android app linked from a QR code. On Windows, the Assistant can't find a USB device. And the Android app immediately disconnects - I tried all the BT tricks I know but to no avail.

So I was wondering if it even starts recording or if I did something fundamentally wrong which might be so obvious that i keep overlooking it.

I've used Smart Device Assistant with a different model before (as SpO2 Assistant I think). Does anyone know where I can get the most recent version?

With time stamped data, I'll have no problem to find a way to import it into OSCAR I guess.

The newer CMS50 series use a USB/HID connection. This requires the use of the cable that came with the oximeter.

So you're saying, this meter requires a special cable to connect, not just a standard micro USB cable?

It's been a while since I received the device. I can't remember if it included a cable, and if it did, wether I used this or another 'standard' cable. If by any chance you have a picture of the included cable, would you be able to post it? It might still be in my cable box.

It will look the same as a normal USB cable. The micro plug end seems longer than normal.  I Googled using,"contec cms50 usb hid cable", and found the image below.

Smart Device Assistant came out along with the newer Contec models. It seems to support Bluetooth. You may need to wake up the oximeter by placing the probe on your finger momentarily.

The latest version of the software (I'm aware of) is 3.1.0.1
You can find the d/l link on the wiki page: http://www.apneaboard.com/wiki/index.php...t_software

Lets us know if that works....

If you find the new version as Jeff pointed out, do you have a desktop or laptop that has Bluetooth in the NIC?
