New S11 - 1st night
First off Hello. New member. Long time (13 year) 100% compliant (I'm not kidding either....) CPAP wearer. I just got the New ResMed S11 autoset and slept with it last night. I do have some questions regarding its use. First off it's way quieter than my old S9. It's also an autoset which my in lab sleep study set the range from 10 cm/h2o to 11 cm/h2o (Way too narrow in my opinion). So I did what any smart Engineer would do and went into the clinician menu and set the range from 10-15. I have been wearing straight CPAP at 15.6 for 10 years so this was still a "safe" guess in my eyes. I also slept with a new mask - A nasal N30i (I have been using a nasal respironics DreamWear for years) so no big change. My S11 does NOT have a SD card (YET) so I cant download to Oscar, but I used the "MyAIR" ResMed synch app. I had less then .5 AHI's and the autoset said in ran at 12.2 cm/h2o for the majority of the night. I had a rating of 95/100 on the app and felt like I slept great.
If theres anything that I don't like about the machine its that sometimes I feel like I don't get a "full exhalation" or that I feel like I'm "rebreathing" air from the mask. The N30i is very comfortable and easy to wear but I may switch back to the dreamwear tonight to try. EPR is set to 3 like always. Lots of fancy settings on this new machine but I surprised the clinician by telling him No ramp (give me a full power shot from the get go), No auto start/stop - these used to be connected but the S11 allows for each to be set up independently, EPR 3, and the range change (which he didn't (or can't) authorize so I gave him the goofy eyes and said I'll take care of it.
Anyway nice to be here and I'll update this as I get more into consecutive nights
