Cpapti72 - Therapy Assistance Request
So for backround, I was diagnosed with sleep apnea via lofta with an rdi of 17, but and ahi of 2. I took a second sleep test and it said no apnea with 2 ahi.
Out of sheer exhaustion I ordered a cpap anyways and started using it, I am still noticing I'm waking up feeling like something is stuck in my throat/choking. This usually happens everytime I hit deep sleep according to my watch. I sleep walk nightly, and have anxiety and GERD.
So my question is, my ahi is still virtually 0 everytime I use my mask, aside from clear airway events which are just me settling into sleep.
However I have found that this is my breathwave when these panic moments happen. Does this look like anything other than a huge intake of air?! I'm not seeing anything wrong leading up to the choking sensation either, so I'm starting to feel like apnea is the wrong diagnoses, and anxiety or acid reflux is the cause of the choking and not a collapse of my airway.
I can't upload a picture and can't figure out how to delete this post so nevermind.

Also the second picture I as clearly in REM as my breathing is going bonkers, but would the cessation that is seen be considered a RERA as well?

Thanks pizza, idk what's going on then. I typically inly have the choking sensation once per night about an hour after I fall asleep, and the part where that huge increase in respiratory volume is when I woke up freaking out.
I wasn't sure if I wasn't seeing something someone else on here might. If that's the case then I guess my next step is treating the GERD and anxiety disorder, because I don't thinking I'm being choked by my throat.
The annoying part is I have video of my sleepwalking body scraping my tongue with my fingers trying to fish the imagined thing out of.my throat.

I have GERD as well and know when I will have issues laying down. I take a 20mg OTC Famotidine, which seems to handle the GERD issues.
You could try bumping up your pressure a wee bit, even just 0.2 cmH2O may make the difference. You can try increasing every few nights up until things don’t feel like they are working, then back off until it feels right. This would help if the pressure is low for those specific instances.
