Tidal Volume & Minute Vent. Significantly Lower
Hi everyone. I'm new here and this is my first post. I've been reading the posts quite a bit as I started my journey with CPAP (for the second time) in April.
I switched from a Phillips Respironics to a ResMed AirSense 10 for Her on August 13th. In reviewing my Sleepyhead statistics, I noticed that my Tidal Volume and Minute Vent. are SIGNIFICANTLY lower with this machine. I don't know what this means. Can anyone shed some light on this? Was it bad before and now it's better? Or vice versa?
Thanks in advance.
Jennifer

RE: Tidal Volume & Minute Vent. Significantly Lower
It would probably help if you could post a daily chart from each machine.
RE: Tidal Volume & Minute Vent. Significantly Lower
I would use caution in looking at any metric for Vt and Vm other than the median. The 95% and maximum are subject to a lot of error in the volume measurements. To me the median minute vent and tidal volumes look like a nearly straight line. On your charts, I'm seeing a trend toward diminishing AHI and time in apnea. These results should be encouraging.
The overview charts have too much scale to show what we need to see in the median tidal volume. I agree with Walla that daily details would be more useful.
