[Equipment] Please need some input regarding new PR auto bipap machine.

RE: Please need some input regarding new PR auto bipap machine.
We see a drop in VS, H and RERA, but a small increase in FL that I can't explain because we should have targeted that. Periodic breathing and large leak are also reduced and a minor increase in CA. By the numbers, it is fine. How did this feel in comparison to lower PS?

I seem to sleep better with the lower PS (the pressure at this range of 4.5 I'm not used to yet).

Hello again. I'm not sleeping as soundly with the bipap, mainly because the pressure on inhale is too blunt/strong. What pressure setting do I need to lower to make the inhale pressure less? It doesn't seem to taper, it's either air/no air.

Thank You

We can drop back pressure support, also, it is possible to taper the rise time from EPAP to IPAP by changing BiFlex settings or turning off BiFlex and using a rise time setting that is longer than 0.3 seconds. Once again, this is an advantage of Resmed where the spontaneous breathing effort causes the rise in pressure support, which is then proportional to the respiratory flow. Let's start by understanding what BiFlex setting you are currently using. If you want to calibrate rise time, we can turn off BiFlex and use a setting of 0.5 or 0.6. Higher settings extend the time it takes for pressure support to be fully on. This is a trial and error setting, and you just need to try it while relaxing and breathing with the machine. Find the setting that feels most natural from 0.3 up to 1.0.

That's exactly what I needed to know, I will experiment with rise time settings and let you know how it goes.  Thank you very much!
