[CPAP] Suddenly air feels too dry..
#1
Suddenly air feels too dry..
Hi all,

The last few days I've felt like the air has been very dry coming through the mask, I'm struggling to breath it makes me want to rip the mask off. Before this it was perfect and I loved the warm moist air it provided.

I also noticed the reservoir is not getting all steamed up as much (I think).

The settings haven't changed lately, other than upping the min pressure 8 > 9, although the weather has dropped quite cold outside (-2C overnight).

My equipment and settings:
Airsense 10 autoset
Heated climate tube set to 27C
Humidity set to 4 (has been like this forever and been fine since July).

What I've tried:
Cranked it up to level 8 humidity and woke up to a rained out tube dripping water, so I know the heater is working ok.
Opened bottom compartment and checked the fuse - it's ok.

Questions:
Is this perhaps something I'll have to tune in the colder Winter time, as I've only been using the CPAP since July (6 months)?
What is the "Temperature Enable" setting in Oscar? As I notice it has changed from Auto to ON in the last few months.

Thanks for any advice guys Smile

RE: Suddenly air feels too dry..
Looking at my room sensor (last 30days) I can see the temperature has gone up (radiator coming on), and the humidity has dropped on average..

Guessing I might need to turn up the humidity manually when the central heating is coming on and drying out the room air a little?

I didn't find full auto worked for me before, but might give it another go - thoughts?

RE: Suddenly air feels too dry..
We need one of the OSCAR developers like Gideon to give the specifics. This changed in OSCAR at some point, but I don’t recall which version.

Do whatever you need to feel comfortable with tube temperature and humidity. Here is a link that may help with balancing tube temperature and humidity to avoid excess moisture.
