RE: Trejo - Therapy Thread
Trejo,
I have merged your threads and renamed it. Please, going forward, use this thread for all your therapy related questions and posting of charts. This makes it easier and more efficient for those that wish to advise to see your history in one place. Thanks for your understanding.

RE: IAH raised to changing mask

Your leaks with the nasal mask are not large, but they could still effect your therapy. Did you use mouth tape or a soft cervical collar? If not you may want to try both. I used Kinesiology tape from Amazon. Are you a side sleeper or do you sleep on your back? Do you have any conditions or take medications that may effect your sleep?

RE: Trejo - Therapy Thread
Holà,
I have been out all morning and have just seen your graphs. Some observations:- - Your flow limitations (at 0,02 within 95% range) are excellent. - Your leak rates at 0.00 l/min are perfect also. I think you can rely on the figures produced by OSCAR. - You had a much longer night's sleep at 8cms of pressure, almost 8 hours, compared with the previous night of just over 4 hours, at 7 cms. The AHI was also better at 8cms. Concerning the question of the possibility of positional apnea, normally this is represented by a tight cluster of events. In your zoom, you had just 3 events, on the 18th of December, but non on the 17th of December. It is always possible that this "mini" cluster is actually positional apnea, but my opinion, probably not. What I suggest you do is to check your graphs daily to see how it evolves. Honestly I would not worry about this. It's just too soon. We can look deeply into this if really necessary. The events tab is very good at showing the details of apnea events, with the duration of each event in seconds. For information, you can copy the link of positional apnea, and paste into Google translate for a Spanish version. Note - position apnea is not provoked by pressure, it is only due the physical position of your body At a later stage we could increase the pressure from 8 to 9, but incrementally by slow steps of 0,2, to reduce the apnea events (but as above, not clusters). But I advise to leave at 8 for a few days to see how it evolves, and most importantly how you feel.

RE: Trejo - Therapy Thread
First of all, I would like to thank everyone for their interest in answering my questions.
Regarding jdougc's questions, I would like to say that yes, I have used tape but I have not had good results. I usually sleep on my back part of the time, and I am not currently taking any medication that alters my sleep. Regarding the pressure of 8 as advised by Expat31, I will continue to try for a few days (I think it is necessary to try for a few days to see the long-term results), since despite the slightly elevated AHI I feel better in the morning. I am attaching a graph with the duration of events. Greetings to everyone, reiterating my thanks. |
