RE: Trying to get CA's down & Bradycardia
Mesenteria,

How many hours a week were you training to have your HR (safely) @ 34?

RE: Trying to get CA's down & Bradycardia
Great points by Rose (OpalRose) and Mesentaria.  Simply reducing EPR should decrease CA's.  You asked me how many hours I exercised also.  At my peak in my 20's I did aerobic type activities (jogging, machines, etc.) for 3 straight hours maximum.  I figured if I could go that long, games would be a breeze.  I lifted weights for about 2 straight hours maximum.  Did this in my offseason around 5 or 6 days a week.

I would like to hear Mesenteria's exercise regimen also.  I consider him an expert on Afib, etc.  34 resting heart rate I have never heard of in anyone.  I wonder if I did some damage to my heart by this extreme exercise?  I was almost a professional athlete, and it just came with the territory it seemed to me.

RE: Low Pulse on Oximeter
(04-09-2023, 01:30 PM)Deborah K. Wrote: Some folks just have a naturally low heart rate (bradycardia).   I have it.  Mine is usually in the 50s or 60s but drops into the 40s some days.  I don't know what it is at night, but it's probably lower than daytime.

I've recently found that my late evening heartrate is also very low, at about 57-60.  During CPAP use, the increased air pressure gets my heart rate going up to about 70.  It also may explain why I have difficulty returning to sleep after any awakenings, as my heartrate goes up to 75.  The Oscar charts, with oximeter data, also shows me that my awakenings are preseeded by an increase in heart rate, without any other flags (OSA, CSA, leaks, etc.).  I have to do more analyses to determine if it’s cause or effect.  It’s also possible that my oximeter timing is slightly off and my heart rate increases are consequence of my awakening, rather than a cause.

Viewing heartrate and SPO2 readings with other sleep data is so amazing.  Oscar’s Oximeter Import has become an amazing feature, as long as one knows where their oximeter’s data is stored.  I now can see that slight increases in pressure are so disruptive to my sleep.  It gets my heartrate elevated.  As a result, I’m now dramatically reducing my range settings in my system to almost zero, and getting very interesting results.

I hooked up my old Contec CMS50D+ the other night, after not using it for many years.  The biggest issue was finding where oximeter data files are stored in one's current operating system, but there are so many excellent ApneaBoard Wiki threads now that guide people through it.  They are so helpful to new oximeter users.  ApneaBoard has become such a tremendous resource, as a result of the many valuable contributors.

RE: Low Pulse on Oximeter
I don’t think it is a problem if your O2 saturation is above 88.

That reminded me of my recent visit to a hospital to visit an elderly relative, in for breathing issues amongst other things.  Throughout my visit, every time she spoke too much and didn't breath sufficiently, a loud alarm would start chiming.  The trigger point was 85, perhaps a normal minimum commonly set by doctors.

Even though I share the same low heart rate at moments, I was content to see my SPO2 not drop below 95% during xPAP treatment.  Well treated xPAP can sure be effective.  You're certainly right about the bigger concern being SPO2, rather than heart rate.  It's interesting that many oximeters have the ability to set alarm chimes when breaching SPO2 or heart rate minimums.

Interestingly, at the end of my relative's hospital stay, she was instructed to immediately start new BiPAP treatment for the first time, at the age of 85.  How 'bout that.

RE: Low Pulse on Oximeter
Twobigwheels, I would suggest you check to see if your pulse readings correlate with apnea episodes. My pulse often goes down to around 40 when asleep. If you are on beta blockers and are concerned, perhaps ask your doctor about slightly lowering the dose. Hope that helps.

Oscar not showing data from late morning nap
I have been using Oscar successfully for the last 7 months.

After waking up this morning (7am) I downloaded to Oscar successfully.

I felt out of it so laid back down approx 10am for a 1hr nap.

My SD card was in my Airsense 11 for my nap when I was using CPAP.

After nap I went to download on Oscar, but the nap data isn't appearing on this last night/this morning sleep report.

My AirSense 11 does show the cumulative time of machine being used (8hrs sleep + 1hr nap for 9 hr total)

Is it possible I started CPAP to soon after inserting SD,,,or is it something else I'm missing?

If you already imported the day's data, you will need to purge it and reimport.

RE: Oscar not showing data from late morning nap
I purged it and downloaded again.

Still missing data from 10-11am.

Timeline does go to 11:45 now, I put mask on and ran CPAP for 1m @ 11:45. That 1m is also shown in Session Information.

Session Information does not show anything from 7am to 11:45 when I put my mask on for 1m.

***Is it possible I put SD card in and immediately hooked mask up (auto start) and that's why it didn't record nap data?

Oh, It may be on tomorrow's data. A Resmed's day is from noon to noon. Wait and see is it shows up. Did you make sure the card wasn't locked and fully inserted?
