Vibratory snoring - can a Dreammapper record someone else's snoring?
Hey everyone!
I've been on my DreamStation ASV for quite a few months. It seems to be doing well for the most part. But every time I go in to see the doctor, her data shows that I have a LOT of vibratory snoring being recorded by my DreamStation.
I'm one of those apnea folks who never (or rarely) snored. Even now, as far as I know, I don't snore very much. So I find it odd that the DreamStation keeps recording almost non-stop vibratory snoring. I figured it must be picking up *something* I've been doing, but I'm not sure what or why.
Then it occurred to me...my wife, who is not on apnea therapy, has snored quite loudly for years. Her sleep study results told her that she doesn't have apnea, she just snores. I've become so used to it that I hardly notice it. It certainly doesn't keep me awake.
But could her snoring be picked up and recorded as "vibratory snoring" by my DreamStation?

Dreamstations record two different snore charts. One is Labeled VS which is normally pretty accurate. The other one is labeled VS2 which has been known to pick up external noises. It's possible your Doctor is seeing a lot of snores from the VS2 source which could be your wife or other outside noises.

OMG! That is why my results were so bad on that machine, it picked up the wife snoring, she can snore for both of us
I am NOT a doctor. I try to help, but do not take what I say as medical advice.

You all got me nervous now. I know I snored before I was on the CPAP the said she hasn’t heard me snore since but I know she can get loud. If I end up rungin to this with my DR do you think they will listen if I argued this point of VS versus VS2.
