What works best? Chin strap or tape?

What works best? Chin strap or tape?
I'm early on in the process. My CPAP/ASV Titration test is coming up next month for severe Central Sleep Apnea. Trying to figure out how I'm going to deal with the mouth breathing situation. Some have said the Knightsbridge is the way to go. But why is there a full head mechanism for this? It seems bulky, expensive and a bit overkill. The tech that administered my sleep study discouraged against the tape. What are your thoughts?

I have tried chin straps, but they wouldn't stop my mouth from opening. I use Cover Roll Stretch tape in 2" you can find it on Amazon.
I am not an expert...just a long time user.

I also found the mouth-taping more efficient.

Yep. I need to tape my mouth too. Nothing else helps me at all.

I have been using tape for a couple of months and it works for the most part.
When it doesn't work is when I drool in my sleep, the coverroll tape adhesive softens and if I continue to drool for a ferw hours, I have sometimes found the tape will be completely dislodged. Still use it but would like to find an alternative. I also have facial hair which means it is not the best adhesion.

I can't even fathom taping my mouth shut.

It actually works very well if you are not a big mouth breather. It works way better, at least for me, opposed to any chin strap. I have a few chin straps I would sell you along with my share of the Brooklyn Bridge

I'm a die hard mouth-breather. When lying in bed, I simply cannot get enough air via my nose. But....when I'm in my recliner, I can do okay, but I don't make a habit of it.

Chin straps and collars do not work on me. Taping with Cover Roll is more effective but still will not keep my jaw up and mouth closed. I tried PAPMd tapes. Cover Roll is way less expensive and works better.
I only give suggestions from experience as a fellow CPAP user, not professional advice.
