AHI too high

Switching off a flex will help reduce your OAs. But you may feel uncomfortable with no aflex.

If you switch off aflex, you should concurrently raise your minimum to 6. Try this for 7 days and then evaluate.

If you are comfortable when exhaling, then don't use a flex setting.

If you do use it, then you should raise your minimum pressure up to acccomadate. You won't get exhale relief with a start pressure of 6.

If you start your pressure at 8, you will have exhale relief if you use a flex setting. You also may tame the OA's as stated above.

thanks. I did take the Aflex off last night and set the top pressure to 9, as the dr. had prescribed. I woke up several times with mask making noise and pressure seemed high so I used the ramp and went back to sleep. The machine said I had no major leaks,an AHI of 7, and 8.5 pressure 95% of the time. Tonight I will try pressure of 6-9, no Aflex and ramp setting of 4 for 10 minutes. Fingers crossed that I can get my AHI down.

thanks for all the help. My AHI has been around 3.5 all week, so turning off the A-Flex and increasing the bottom pressure up to 6 seems to be working. There are days that the pressure is at 9, 95% of the time so I might nudge that up a little if that continues.

When I set my bottom pressure to close to my 95% pressure number I started getting much lower AHIs. Now I run 11-16 and I haven't had an AHI over 1 in months.
