Constant Air the same even when i change settings
I have a RemStar Pro 2 with C-Flex that is a Latin America model. It seems the exact same as the US models. Although when I try and change the air pressure, no matter what I change them to it still blows out the same exact pressure. So no matter if it say 10 or even 5 it is the same. To get to the settings to change it on this particular model you hold down the <> buttons and then plug it in. I have found another though, if you hold down the ramp and the humidifier buttons it goes to a different menu. Under that one you can find a 5 to 6 digit number that will lower the air pressure, but I can figure out how to save it from that menu. An help or ideas appreciated. Thanks!!

Hi blackhawk2737303,
You will find instruction in the link below for changing the pressure on your machine. Take note of the part that says to be sure to remove the smart card before making adjustments, or the machine will revert back to the original settings. Order your Clinicians manual: http://www.apneaboard.com/adjust-cpap-pr...tup-manual

So no matter if it say 10 or even 5 it is the same. How do you know it's the same? What is the pressure when the machine reports a 10? What is the pressure when the machine reports a 5? If you're basing this on how the air feels when it hits your hand coming out of the hose, that is not a valid comparison. The speed of the air flow is not the same as the pressure. The machine is designed to maintain a constant pressure over a wide range of speeds, but if there is no mask attached the machine cannot maintain the pressure and you will indeed feel the same air speed regardless of the pressure setting. It will have only two or three digits. But it's not a good idea to change your pressure if you don't know what your pressure is supposed to be. It should be stated on the prescription from your doctor or on the sleep study results. If you don't know makes some calls and find out.

I do have a masked attached, and when I try it on the pressure is too much. It doesnt ramp and it is supposed to. You can tell that it is not changing. This is a Latin America version of this RemStar Pro also, so the setting are a little different.

To test the pressure remove the mask and submerge that end of the hose in water. There will be bubbles until you submerge it deep enough to make the bubbles stop. The depth at which the bubbles just stop is the pressure. For example, if you have to submerge the hose end to a depth of 10 cm to make the bubbles stop then the pressure is 10 cm. Something like 460P?

Blackhawk, it's hard to know what machine you are using. Every Respironics machine made has used the same RemStar name. You probably have a M-Series, or System One 50 or 60 series. Can you find a model number or post a picture of the unit?
