RE: hypertension issue
With that many meds, it's probably critical to take magnesium because various meds waste minerals. I understand about taking so many things though. It's overwhelming.
Ours are mostly supplements but it is still a lot, probably two dozen pills since several are double. What helps me is to use a spreadsheet, notes file, and a supplement box and fill every one o two weeks. My husband helps me fill mine and our son's. (Not for the as needed stuff of course). The spreadsheet contains the current list and lists dosage and whether it's am or pm or other as well as other things. The notes file is for historical reasons so I can share latest with my doc or search back for supplement or medicine changes and my notes in the past. I suggest putting new entries on top, dated of course.
The supplements/meds we keep in plastic boxes with handles, one box for me, one for our son, and one for refills (most on amazon auto ship). We bring the boxes to the kitchen table and just go down the list, and then check the prescription refills and auto ship at the same time. We have the refill appointment in the calendar and we just move it around for things like a trip or being out of something. It really helps to have two people though.
The box takes so much thinking out of the equation. Anytime we miss a dose, we move it to the next empty slot. But the big advantage to me is psychological. I'm not questioning or feeling badly everytime I see the labels, I've already made the decision. Checking if today's morning slot is filled or taken when my phone alarm goes off, that is much easier to put in my routine. I only do the bulk of the research when adding, changing, or refining (eg moving something from night to morning to improve sleep). When I need to share my list with others I copy it from the spreadsheet.
