just settings bipap auto 20/12.. pressure ramp
hi just curious is 20/12 are settings for dreamstation auto bipap pro and i have the ramp going to 4.0 and it keeps getting high like it suspose too.
but i have to do ramp several times before getting use to this 20/12 pressure.
is 20/12 good settings? the dme * supply company * added it from prescription.
new to all of this so i am learning.
basically what i am asking is i can do ramp as much as i like i think?
most times it seems ok that i can fall asleep it goes to prescription but i some how wake up and wanna low pressure via ramp.
so its ok to do it as many times as i can? i dont wanna damage machine.
RE: just settings bipap auto 20/12.. pressure ramp
You won't damage the machine, and I can understand that it's hard to get used to the pressure, but hitting that ramp several times a night for one, means your not sleeping, and two, going back to that lower pressure could cause your machine to miss apnea events when you do fall asleep.
Possibly your settings are too high for you, causing you to wake up. Hang in there, someone with experience with bipap settings may be able to advise.

I think it is an auto and not a bipap. Is this the case brejust? Are the 20/12 the high and low pressure for the operating range?
