I too have been wondering about all the graphs on sleepyhead and exactly what they mean, I had been using a vpapIII until it recently died , I bought a used PRS1 bipap auto with a heated humidifier but I am not currently using the humidifier . I also started using this sleepyhead program and wonder if anyone can tell me what all the graphs and events are and the number that show up behind the events if that is how many times etc.. Here is a screen shot of last night I noticed that the AHI is very low when I use auto mode it does go up to about 5 or so when using just bi-level with biflex at 1

thanks for the video link! would you know what the numbers mean that are in the events area after say hypopneas mine shows 7 then when you open that up in the events it shows seven items times then in ( ) it has another number what does that number mean, is that the length of the event? the video did not go into the events area.

I don,t use the software but lots of SleepyHead users around so some might might chime in

The number I am refering to are the ones in the event column that is after the time.. would that be how long each event took ?[attachment=403]

If not mistaken its the duration of the event in seconds

A lot of people think it is the number of seconds the event lasted, but I am not convinced. At the same time I have no alternative theory. I just know that I see some really high numbers sometimes - 30 or more for obstructive apneas, yet my pressure never changed. My machine would respond with a higher pressure if an obstructive event continued that long. But it may be that the machine just doesn't pick up the event as accurately as I might wish. It is, after all, basically a mechanical device sensing air pressure.

The number in (brackets) after individual events is used for alignment purposes, to make the events match up to the flow rate waveform.

It may or may not be related to duration, so I left it in, in the hopes someone else might figure it out.
