RE: Looking for help in refining settings
All of this has a 0.00 AHI, so let's drop EPAP to 7.0, PS max 10. We don't know where the thresholds are for either apnea or aerophagia until we give them a tickle, so we're looking for that.
RE: Looking for help in refining settings
Okay, I’ll give those settings and try and see what happens. It’s still such a novelty to see 0.0 for events. ?
RE: Looking for help in refining settings
ASV often has 0.0 for events, unless we lower pressure to the point that they no longer prevent obstruction or hypopnea. The majority of individuals using ASV have some events but most don't have many. I think any therapy that routinely shows 0.0 is pretty exceptional.
RE: Looking for help in refining settings
Thanks, Sleeprider. I forgot to change my settings last night so another perfect 0! ? 02 levels were good too.
Changed it for tonight.
RE: Looking for help in refining settings
If your aerophagia is not a problem, then you're already home. The only purpose in lowering pressure is if you remain uncomfortable for pressure.
RE: Looking for help in refining settings
I'm currently in the rental phase with my APAP machine, but you guys are making me think that I should not buy it at the end and instead just go with a refurbished ASV.
Not that I currently have any reasons to believe I would need one, but the cost difference to me is practically none since my provider would charge me 250% more than the online price to buy the AirSense 11 AutoSet at the end of the rental.
RE: Looking for help in refining settings
Valtor, before you make that decision, you might want to start a therapy thread and show some Oscar graphs to the group. Are you using full time EPR of 3 currently? That's the first step toward more advanced machines. Also if they are going to charge you that much why not get an airsense retail instead?
My understanding is that most people can benefit from going from APAP to bi pap, but ASV is pretty specialized / more invasive and not for everyone especially just starting out. (Sleeprider, please respond if that's not accurate). I would think what you might want is the bi level, the Aircurve Vauto (many prefer the 10 to the 11 series by the way) which would give you more range of treatment, for a price more in the middle of the range. I've seen comments that most people benefit from a bi level.

RE: Looking for help in refining settings
Ok, so ASV might be overkill.
Thank you, I just started a
new therapy thread.
